2008 TL original owner 31,935 miles....still original brakes and tires. Looking like I'll be getting new tires (Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+) because the Tirerack rebate is too good to pass up. This year however even the people at the dealer were surprised with my original tires that look mint with zero cracking and full tread. Guess being garage-kept counts for something. oh and still has the new-car smell as well...

You're getting the best tires for the TL, with or without the rebate!

Damn! Nice car!

Is it a tech package? Must still be worth a lot in that condition!

Michelin a/s3 has premature unilateral tread wear. I had both the a/s2 and a/s3. One side of your tire will have tread, the other will have steel wires exposed. This is with moderate driving. Otherwise it’s a Good handling all season tire.

The “Best” Michelin tire for summer tire I’ve found is the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. You can get a set for $875 at Costco with install and TPMS sensors.

yep it's the tech package. no idea what it's worth. A couple of years ago I was planning to get a different car and trading this car in on a .....ok no laughing .....a 2015 Civic Touring ....but I changed my mind and think this car is better built than any of these new cars. jmho sooooo I'm keeping it. I got my 4 Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ tires from Tirerack (date code 4118) here ready (total cost after rebates and discounts...$455) and have 4 new TPMS OEM sensors for $131 from Advance Auto Parts (Schrader 28981) so I'm good to go. I know some people think spending that on the TPMS sensors is a waste of $ but that's one feature that I'd require in a car (the Civic had that cheap crap ABS cheap ass tire warning crap, which is what kept me from buying it till I came to my senses) because I find it extremely useful and, at least on this car, I've found it 100% accurate to the single PSI with my manual gauges. All 4 of my TPMS sensors still work and have never had one problem with them but those batteries now are 11+ years old and the $$$$$ would start piling up if I tried to roll the dice and then replacing the sensors and tearing the tires apart... I originally had an offer on a set of 4 TPMS on ebay for $50 but I chickened out and went with the Schraders that have a lot of reviews on them with people using them with 3G TLs and 1 year warranty (vs 30 day) and are genuine TRW units (manufactured 9/10/2018).

Here's pictures taken today showing current mileage 31954 and date code on tires.... I wonder if I'm the last 3G TL with original tires?? I've never had the car aligned and even the last time the tires were rotated was 2012. Car tracks straight as an arrow. Each time I change the oil I look over underneath and it's dry as a bone with no leaks.

I need to take an exterior picture but it looks like the white base TL in the previous family picture of TLs except mine has the mirror solar tinted windows and no front license plate required in Oklahoma.

Your story reminds me of a set of 04-06 wheels I almost bought last week as winters for the type-s. Of course, on the day of pickup I remember to ask the manufactured date and he said they were from 06 lol. But the tread still looked amazing (in pics).

And your mileage is stupid low. I hope you plan to drive it into the ground

Just hit 105K on my 6MT Type S. I also just picked it up today from my mechanic who replaced the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, seals, serpentine belt, pulleys and fixed a small leak on the oil pump. It's crazy how much quieter she is now. She's purring. It's kind of weird how much I missed my car while it was in the shop for those two days lol

update to the story........Got the new tires and TPMS sensors put on. Sweet tires. The TPMS display showed '0' at all 4 tires till I started driving and all 4 tire pressure readings showed up in about 200' (5 seconds) of driving. I notice all 4 readings are 2 psi off but I know there are TPMS calibration options in the service menu on the nav screen so I'll have to get to that next time I drive it. All works better and easier than I thought it would be. more updates to come.

Some say the J32 is smoother than the J35... Is this true? Any other noticeable differences? Was your old TypeS an auto?

Stick it out, not too many issues you have there...

Personally, the longer I have a car, the longer I plan to keep it...
