If you rub too hard it will discolor the leather... Just rub lightly and pay attention and you should be fine. I guess I can add this to the list of dumb things.

One time I went to town on my leather seats trying to clean them with a magic eraser. Those things really will erase ANYTHING. I have a nice discolored spot on my drivers side seat. But I'm the only one that ever notices it. I'm lucky it wasn't worse.

Here's some more shenanigans:
  1. Post #10 here, and
  2. Post #8 here.
  3. Last week I left my cellphone on the dashboard for only an hour. It was ~90 degrees out. Something broke; the phone doesn't work any more.

Thanks for the tip. My detailer is going to try one more leather cleaner that he has and then I will give the eraser a try. I appreciate the advice!

For now it just reminds me of my daughter I am past the being angry part. ;-)

Wasn't in the TL, but the dumbest thing I've done is let a friend drive "buzzed". I was the passenger in the car, and it took 3 people, with 3 saws, 30 minutes to cut me out.

I have known people that have been lost over much less.

On a lighter note: I bet your hot ass mom was delighted to see you walk away from that one.
Its a good thing you requested to change the name of that thread.
I was kinda scratchin my head over that.

A lot of people have no idea how I did either. I guess I'm a miracle child Went down on a bike at 80mph, after smashing into a trailer on the interstate without any lights on, gravel patch at 50mph, and hit a pole back in 05' in my car, and flipped a few times into some trees

She's gotten a lot of late night "your son is in the hospital" alarm clocks That thread was supposed to be a "hi, I'm new" thread, but decided just to turn it into a progress thread instead. Probably could have left her pics out of it, but I'm sure my thread wouldn't have gotten nearly as much attention

Sorry for going a little off topic on the thread

Man...I also survived a T-bone crash with a semi @ 30 mph a few years ago. I was in a '95 Accord. They had to pull me out of a passenger side window but what I see in the pictures cannot compare what my car looked like.
I'm glad you are alive!!!

Thanks to everyone with the kind words. It was definitely an experience. Luckily, I was awake and coherent the whole time. I was the one who called the paramedics. I lucked out with a high tolerance for pain and the ability to stay calm during stressful situations

2) Driving 150MPH though a tunnel at 3 in the Morning. Scary! lol
3) Drifting around a corner and spinning out of control and nearly hitting a parked car.

* made a right-hand turn in front of a speeding bus...i was not on the turning lane. I was on the one next to it.

* wore a belt that had spikes in it...well, that totally messed up my leather.

* trying to exit the bank drivethru through the entrance. the curve messed up my rims. My friend got kicked out of my car for laughing.

* pushing 90 on a 35 with my sister and my 2-year-old niece in the car. got pulled over by a cop. the bastard that started the whole thing got away.

*sat on the hood to take a pic. the buttons on my jeans left a very nice, long scrape

*allowing my 2-year-old niece to drink chocolate milk in the backseat. half of the bottle ended up on the seat.

* allowing people inside my car. people don't respect your shit.

Not too much stupid stuff for me as I was 41 when I bought my 3G in 2006. I did one day drive about 10-15 miles on I-270 and I-495 (Capital Beltway) in manual mode 3rd gear at about 65 MPH.

Curbed my wheels (twice) on the same curb entering the garage at work.

One day on I-95, I let some kid tempt me. I'm sure he was just as fast or faster (current gen Maxima), but he didn't seem to be able to control the car too well. I got up to about 100 MPH and and threw some moves on him (he should've been able to keep up), then my sanity came back and I slowed down (about 2 miles before seeing a state trooper).

For a short time after I bought my 3G, I used to debate with a friend about who's car is the fastest. He has an '00 E39 BMW 528i (193 HP, 2.8 I-6) and swears that he can outrun everything thats not a German Luxury car or Corvette.

Oh my bad, I thought they were both limited to 130mph.

Anyways, here are my contributions

- Parking my car in front of Starbucks I ran into a small block of concrete on the street that was bigger than I anticipated and I cracked my front bumper in the center. pretty bad

- Scraping my plastic air dam every where! lol

- Redlining 2nd gear in Sportshift cause the music was too loud and I didn't notice.

- Having sex with my ex in the backseat. She leaned back while she was on top of me (I'm 6'1) and when she started riding she kept banging her head on my headliner hahaha. The next day my headliner was hanging a little..lol. Yes, I was kind of pissed.

- Going 130+. lol

I'm sure there's more...I just can't remember 'em right now. haha

1) Went to the local car wash and went to the gas station afterward, wondering where my debit card went, thinking the Lady at the car wash didn't give it back. Went back, she didn't have it, looked in around the car for 20 min. to find it slipped down by the E-brake boot underneath the cup holders. What a pain the ass to get it.

2) Very simple, found out the MID(?) display turns orange and lets you know your E-brake is still on if you move enough without disengaging it.

Resurrecting this thread for more entertainment. The most costliest was a hard curb of one of my ronjon rims, had to buy a new rim and tire for around 6-700.

The dumbest thing i regret the most was doing a u turn by pulling into a downsloping driveway, backed out too fast and ended up hitting something. Saw it at the last minute in my reverse cam and braked hard...could have been worse. I still have the scars on my bumper marring an otherwise perfect finish

What's the dumbest thing you've done in your TL?
You mean besides almost running it off the road and launching it dukes-of-hazzard-style-airborne into a fallow cotton field?

Uhhhh, let me think ....
