pretty dumb, so you purposely hit someone? that's dumb
hydroplaning on purpose? that's stupid
you had your tl in Italy that's pretty cool, although running a roadblock in a foreign country sounds pretty sketchy, sounds like the beginning of a locked up abroad story

I fully expected this thread to be about people posting things like speeding, burnouts etc. They already know it was dumb and thats why it was posted here.

I also fully expected the mother hens to post the unnecessary lectures and redundant 'that was dumb' comments...as if the original posters didnt know it was dumb by posting them here to begin with...

I really do try to keep good care of my TL, but one time, at band camp, I...
  1. Backed into a tree and damaged my trunk. The bumper was untouched;the trunk of the tree looked vertical from the rearview mirror, but was indeed 45 degrees slanted towards the vehicle as I was backing into a parking spot,
  2. Scraped both driver side rims on one of the District's finest granite curbs during the same turn, and
  3. Backed into this freakin' guy wire stake that was impossible to see as I was backing into... another parking spot.
Notice a trend here?

Coming from my 01 CL-S that had a parking brake, I thought it was awesome how the TL had a handbrake. I went to a huge parking lot when it was raining and yanked up the handbrake as hard as I could while going 30 mph hoping the back end would kick out. Sadly it didn't work.

Carrying a huge heavy cabinet on the backseat from detroit to toronto. It just barely fit, and the sharp corner made an indentation against the seat which is still visible. Other than that I can't think of anything stupid I did in my TL.

At the gas station about 30 minutes ago I tried getting around a parked car on the side of the building and I put my mirror into a grey concrete wall

Is it too soon to ask for pics?

Speaking of gas stations. This might be another dumb thing I always do, but am I the only one who parks at a gas pump when just going in to buy a drink or something? It's easier to get in and out...and is safer...I just look like a jackass in the process.

I'm washing the car tomorrow so I'll take some pictures if I remember.

I never buy anything from the gas station except gas, so I've never done what you mentioned. Pretty funny though

Haha I really do feel bad for you man. I hope it buffs out somewhat. If not then well that's what touch-up paint is for. I carry an SSM pen in my glovebox at all times.

here's my contribution:

- let my uncle (who is a big car fanatic) drive my car around the block. he parked it along the curb on the street and ended up curbing BOTH passenger-side wheels. it was the SAME day i bought my car.

- took my friend out to dinner. her restaurant of choice? indian food. she had leftovers. they were in my trunk.. OVERNIGHT.

- picked up my 4 year old nephew from daycare. after i strap him into his booster seat, he tells me he's hungry. i give him some ritz crackers to snack on. is it just me, or am i the only one that thinks it's hard to get the tiny crumbs out of the small little holes in the leather seats?!

Two weeks after I got my 08 TL, I forgot to check what my 6 year old daughter was bringing into the back seat with her. Well, I found out when cleaning the next day that pen works on the leather seats better than on paper. Yeah still trying to get it out.

I dig this thread !

Well, got a ticket in it the other day (speeding).
Drove my drunk Jackass friend in it.
When I first bought it, I curbed the hell outta a rear wheel.
Almost hydrolocked the motor (gotta get one of those K&N sleeves)
Parked on one of the busiest streets in SF, came out to a dented ride.

Im sure there will be more shenanigans in the future too

I wanted to try the magic eraser but was unsure about discoloring the leather but like you said might be worth a shot and thanks for the suggestion.

Didn't do much stupid, but had few occasions:

Trying to make it from Fontana,Ca to San Francisco in 4.5hrs. Letting my friend driving while attempting it. One Cop evasion, couple of near accidents but made it in 4.75hrs.

Forgot to move the pneumatic jack on the lift. While pulling out got my car stuck. Luckily nothing on the bottom damaged, just few scrapes.

Cant think of anything else.

busted the front bumper while backing out of a parking spot. The car was sitting on a couple inches of hard parked snow and they had just plowed the section behind the car There was no piled snow, the blade pushed it the other way. I left the spot to fast and the right front came down hard on the ice. Put a nice dent in the bumper.

Good news was this is how I got my aspec. The damage was hidden under it. I looked at the cost of replacing the bumper or just buying the kit. Deer hit my wife and I have a new front bumper now.
