Unhappy :what: One Less 6spd Type-S in ATL :what:

Hello all,

I rarely come on and post but last Thursday (8/18) was a very sad day for me. I was involved in an accident with my '08 Type-S TL. A Fiat 500 decided to make a left turn from the right hand lane right smack into my TL. I then hit a Toyota FJ Cruiser which then hit a building. Thank God for the safe belt!! My family and I were ok, but the side-curtain air bags did deploy however the passenger and driver air bags did not. I am a little soar, my wife has a nice seat belt burn on her chest, and my 3 year old bit his tongue. I was just informed by my insurance today that the car is totaled, and I will have to start the search all over for a new car.

I am very torn on what to do right now...so I am going to stay put. Some of you may know I got this car back in January 2016 and drove all the way to MI to get it. It had only 78k miles on it at the time of the accident. I was excited to get back involved with the car crew and well now... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I am hurt though and really don't know what to say. I want to thank the TL/Acura community in advance and yes were are all alright. I also still have my 04' TL and she will be my daily for now...

Stay safe and never be too cool for the safe belt!! Driver Front/side view

whats important is everyone in the car walked away with just some minor scratches.. the car is just that, a car.. the TL can be replaced, there's hundreds of them out there

maybe you can use this chance to look for something newer and better who knows! good luck to you and your fam

Yea after this accident, I have a new appreciation for safety. If I can be 100% honest I didn't know our TLs had canopy air bags or air bags in the seats (Bolster's of Driver and Passenger). I was very impressed that a 10+ year old car had these features. I know my next car will need to be safety laden (Volvo?) but still have a classic style and design. I am still super impressed by the TL's performance in this accident.

all that matters is that your family is 100% A-OK.

Seriously, glad you and your family were not seriously injured, sorry to see another TL headed for a recyclers yard, and hopefully you can find another cool and fun ride.

Thanks! He loves telling everyone about what happened. "There was a bad black car that scratched Dad's TLS and it is broken."

Spoken like a 3 year old, but sooo true.

Glad to hear that you and your family are okay, man. Inattentive drivers suck.
