So apparently I'm going to be selling my oil stash among other things, most likely the entire audio system. I bought a new toy and I'm in the dog house big time so I said I would sell off as much stuff as I could. Ill probably be putting something in the classifieds soon. Just thought I would mention the oil here since its already screwed.

Ish... The mids fit in custom kicks. The amps fit under the seats. The 9s in the doors require a bigger hole to be cut but they fit very easily. Ill include all cables to reach the PS8, amps, speakers, etc. Most items were bought new and ill be selling for 1/3 the new price as a package deal. Nothing is more than 2 years old. Ill clean out my inbox because this will get locked down if its not in the black market.

That's awesome. What do you do if you don't mind me asking? I assume IT? I like the Acura keys and pill bottle lol. I would give you this stuff free of charge but the fiancée is pissed I bought my dream gun, a 338 Lapua so I have to get a little something for this stuff. Going to clean out the PMs now.

That sounds like fun. I actually worked for a tower company putting up and maintaining cell sites when I was younger. I got out of it a very long time ago, climbing up to 1,000' with a fear of heights sucks but right when I got out of it we were upgrading equipment and antennas in anticipation for this cool new stuff they were calling 3G lol. I put up at least 20 Cricket sites in Central Cali and worked in their switch center. I actually worked in IT for a few years after that before moving on to a much simpler but specialized controller used in the oil fields. It's nice because the oil industry is not affected by the economy. Ill probably get laid off tomorrow for saying that.

I hate root canals I have a really bad horror story but ill wait till you're done lol.

Lol. Ive heard the same thing. It's been my dream gun for a long time. Way too much gun for my skill level but hopefully ill grow into it. At $5 a round I plan to buy the dyes to reload but even the brass is $2.

To be honest I had given up on getting one since they're not cheap but the many references to it in Chris Kyle's book made me impulse buy one day which caused an impulse beating from the fiancée. I don't have it yet and I hate to say I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve just counting down the minutes.

Okay, so waiting on my phone to load pictures but i was under my car fixing a stupid broken hose clamp on my exhaust yesterday and noticed my filter has some weird cracking on the end of it, not sure if the lower control arm made contact, or if it's just some weird heat affecting it, what concerned me is when I picked at it, it had some oil under it. NOT good...

Anyway, RP filter showed up yesterday and I'll be getting the oil by Thursday so swapping out soon enough.

^that is quite odd. maybe something shot up from the ground and hit it, or it is a manufacturers defect. i've never seen an oil filter spider web like that.

anything spill on it?

no sir, I don't think so, and the wet spot was UNDER the spiderwebbing...honestly, the crinkle is for grip, that's not the abnormal part.

Yep, but I did think it odd that it was oily underneath...unless it was just oil that leaked onto the side of the filter, made it's way under the coating over time and then warped it.

Either way, my RP oil is showing up today and already have the filter so I'm likely doing it tonight.

Not sure if it's the pics but that Fram filter looks huge! The RP filter is tiny.

Being you are Mr. Curious, I assume you'll be tearing the filter apart once you replace it? I'd like to know what happened to it also; like if it is leaking from the inside out or if something did hit it and puncture it, causing it to leak small amounts of oil under the grippy coating.

what filter is that Jeremy? 3593?

Also, i dont see any issues with the filter....if you are not losing oil, then i just wudnt worry about it and not change it until you are due for an oil change (or if you are ~100-200 miles of an oil change, then i would just go for it)....

Is 10 months too long to wait for an oil change if I'm using Redline 5w30 w/RP filter?

I've been taking long road trips in the old Accord this year and haven't put many miles on the TL. I'm barely hitting 6k miles now at month 10 and am about to change it out...I figure I'm fine but am wondering how far it can go without engine damage.

TIA

Can't believe I'm reading another oil thread, but the answer lies within the Owner's Manual, MID or 1 year. Just remember, resetting the MID early will not indicate the specific services due if that's of any interest to you.

I'm reminded of Acuracake's sage advice a year ago to a similar question.

^^^ not sure if you are reading the thread buddy....

MID/ECU has no way to calculate the oil life...keep your OCI's (Oil Change Interval) to 5000 miles

20,000 posts???????
That is precisely what the MID/ECU does, calculations based on various data and recognize the correct time for a change.
Change it when the MID indicates or 1 year max.

Matt, make up with your wife, you'll miss the hell out of your system, man.

2nd oil change with magnetic, looks pretty good.

my new way of keeping the oil off the subframe

.5 quart of M1 EP, and 4 quarts of RP HPS

When I deleted my EGR, my oil life went from 100% to 0% in less than 1200 miles....The driving style or location or any of the did not change....before the EGR delete the oil used to last 6000 miles according to the MID....

None the less, I have always kept the OCI's to 5000miles....

and yes, I do not follow the manual word for word....

Naw man...I was limited on time so I just swapped out. Honest, felt like the heat just made the rubber grip on the outside brittle...no other "leakage" to speak of.

J.

Anil, thanks man...but I'm already too "calculated" I think my head would explode.
