I pretty much hold steady with Mobil 1 5w-30. Sometimes I'll switch brands, but I always stay with full synthetic and 5w-30

ever since i read about a full test setup performed with a bunch of oils, i always use royal purple. was going to use mobil 1 but per the test results it didn't perform nearly as good as i thought it would compared to the others (even though i know it's very popular)

Why is everyone using Mobil 1? Is that what came in the car from the factory?

I've used Penzoil Platinum on all my previous cars. Was thinking of using that with the TL

nail on head, oil is oil, some have different additives if its synthetic, but like said above, if you just change it on a regular basis with a good filter your kosher. No need to worry about brands.. and i use 5w30 of what ever i can get my hands on..Mobil 1, Pennzoil..etc.. and screw synthetic, im not racing or flooring my car around like a maniac so thats just wasted dollars.

The motor oil you use is positively correlated with the gas you use.

This doesn't make sense.

If you use motor oil you use fuel?

NAPA's own brand 5W-20 synthetic which is actually Valvoline SynPower for about 2/3 the price of Mobil1 and a NAPA Gold filter which is a WIX with their name on it. No need to spend more $$ for Mobil1 or an overpriced filter like K&N. Having tried all the major filter brands over the years, I find the WIX seems to keep the oil clean the longest.

People, please dont use Penzoil or Quaker, they are paraffin based, they will hurt your motor. I use 5-20 Valvoline Synpower, mainly because I work at a Valvoline lube shop lol, and to people who think synthetic is only good if youre racing, you are dead wrong. It helps your engine in so many ways in the long run.

Do you have oil analysis or anything to backup your claim?

Pennzoil / Quaker have multiple lines of oil. Are you claiming that every product line they have uses a paraffin mix?

Best combo right here.

I would post the reasons why since all people have posted is opinions but I got tired of repeating the same shit on "which oil" thread #99. I seriously can't believe there's another one of these threads and each time you get the same uneducated shit.

fuq motor oil....

I make sure my blinker fluid is filled with a quality fluid (full synthetic GRP XX) all the time...because of that my MID stays at 100% and I get more than 30,000 miles between oil changes !!!

Agreed. I added a magnefine filter inline with my blinker fluid line and it lasts even longer. Just don't ever mix the blinder fluid and atf up. Bye bye TL.

And we're on to blinker fluid.

Well....since you mentioned it my blinker fluid was low the other day and my car really felt like I was driving a 1990's Ford Escort.
