How does the tl s type handle in rain? I’m picking mine up Friday and probably going to be pretty wet. Thanks.. tires are good

Acura TL Builder 06-05-2019 01:18 AM

You or the car?

Front wheel drive cars handle well in the rain. With good brakes and tires you should make it home in one peice.

+1. Whether the car has set of Pirelli P-Zeros, or a set of Wal-Mart's deal-of-the-day is going to factor into that. Tighter suspension and good brakes help, but your tires and driving style are going to ultimately determine the answer to that question.

Should also add that alignment plays a big factor as well. Excessive toe and camber (really only an issue if lowered) can make it squirrely in wet weather. Been there before with other cars and it isn't fun.

My 05 TL with a decent set of A/S tires and a good alignment, mixed with my not being an idiot in wet weather driving style does just fine.

Ok thanks for the information!! I just didn’t want to get on it and regret it. When I test drove it with her I babied it because I didn’t want to freak her out lol

LeVeL 06-05-2019 09:32 PM

What? How does any car "handle" when it rains?

Acura TL Builder 06-05-2019 10:07 PM

Slippery when wet!

90foxnotch 06-06-2019 08:10 AM

I actually think its a lot of fun to spin through 3rd gear. Makes my car seem fast :butthead:

Imadreamer 06-06-2019 10:07 AM

That’s really what I was asking. 😂

90foxnotch 06-06-2019 12:24 PM

You will be fine. Check the tires n drive normal. I intentionally have fun by turning off traction control and spinning being fwd it handles well in the rain. I wouldn’t try that with my mustang though

Acura TL Builder 06-06-2019 02:52 PM

Rains a lot in the PNW. FWD/AWD are the way to go.

Imadreamer 06-06-2019 03:10 PM

I totaled a mustang hydroplaned on interestate. Ok thanks for information

A function of the tires, not the car. Any car can be a total POS in the rain if the tires are a POS. RWD, FWD, AWD...don't really matter in the rain other than acceleration.

I picked the car up today I love it!! I noticed driver door window doesn’t roll down. Could it b motor or regulator maybe fuse? She did put a new battery in it I didn’t know if anything needs to be reset? Thanks for any input!!

It’s raining here so I’m waiting for it to dry up and wash wax it. Thx man!! I noticed my window won’t roll down so I got to figure that out. It only has 59k on it

Acura TL Builder 06-07-2019 06:17 PM

You got a Type-S with 59k miles? Now we must see pics.

There are very knowledgeable members here that will be able to answer your window question.

I uses to do that too! The J series V6 sounds awesome revving without acceleration... Almost like burning out!

It is? I can't find it on my car. :tomato:
A better response is, aspec was a dealer option and is OE quality....but it is not technically "stock".
