We need a Definitive Timing Belt kit package number for all 3G TLS

I have spent the last hour searching for a full timing belt kit for my 07 type s. I have not come to a conclusion on all of the parts yet. I know there is about 6 or 7 parts to the full kit including the tensioner and pulleys and water pump and belts. Can anyone help me out with every part im going to need to do a full TB service to my car this week??

Forgive me if I missed it and wasted time posting this thread, I was just unable to piece it all together.

for FULL, like full full timing belt job, you would be replacing pulleys but that'd be dumb.

there are many parts that some cars need and some cars don't such as oil seal which is rarely needed but since i just bought service manual like recently, i'm gonna look it up and list it for you

i did 1,2,3,4,5,10,11 and valve adjustment

1. belt(timing AND accessory. while you're in there)
2. water pump assembly
3. hydraulic adjuster (little piston looking? thingy)
* leave the car overnight to cool the engine completely, and valve adjustment. it's optional but everyone recommends it here.
----------optional--------------
4. hydraulic adjuster (tensioner) pulley
5. idler pulley
---------if needed-------------------
6. cam oil seals (front and back)
7. crank oil seal
8. camshaft pulley (ain't nobody ever need that at first timing belt service..)
9. etc. you won't know until the car's stripped apart.

now i did the accessory belt (not timing, the outside belt)
10. tensioner pulley
11. idler pulley
as well cuz well, they were kinda starting to squeak, and might as well while they tear that part apart.

I have never heard of anyone replacing the cam shaft pulley... Why would you need to do this?

It's called Gates brand TCKWP kit. Contains everything you need. The bonus is that every component in this kit is the exact same brand part as OEM/Acura, with the exception of the Water pump (Gates brand instead of Yamada). Yes it has Koyo rollers, Aisin hydraulic tensioner and Gates/Unitta timing belt just like the Honda box version of these same parts. Yes, Gates makes most of the timing belts for Honda. Especially the ones for their high-reving 4cyls.

For all 05-08 TL's with 3.2L or 3.5L it's TCKWP329. $159 @ RockAuto.com
https://www.rockauto.com/getimage/ge...TCKWP329-1.jpg

If you want just the belt & rollers, order TCK329. $75 at RockAuto.com

If you want just the belt, order T329. $20 at RockAuto.com

^ thanks alot! So that has 1 Belt, 2 Tensioners, 1 Idler, 1 Water Pump. I just need to get the serpentine belt, thermostat, plugs and?? Just want to make sure im not missing anything at all. I appreciate all the help!

94eg! 02-20-2013 09:43 PM

Get the Gates serpentine belt from RockAuto Along with that kit. You can always find -5% coupon codes for that site too.

OEM Plugs (NGK Laser Iridium) are cheapest at AdvancedAutoParts.com with coupon "CCABIN". Comes out to something like $45 shipped.

For thermostat, I would probably just buy from Honda (OEMAcuraParts.com)

paperboy42190 02-20-2013 10:09 PM

^that is correct. you need auto tensioner, adjuster, idler pulley, water pump, and the timing belt. theres actually already a definitive list on the forum....I did my research when I had to do my timing belt job and found everything I need.

hofiveo 02-21-2013 09:35 AM

Timing Belt - 14400-RCA-A01
Drive Belt - 3892-RCA-A03
Water Pump w/ gasket - 19200-RDV-J01
Timing Belt Adjuster - 14510-RCA-A01
Timing Belt Auto Tensioner - 14520-RCA-A01
Timing Belt Idler Pulley - 14550-RCA-A01
Thermostat w/ gasket - 19301-P(S or 8)E-A10
Cam and Crank seals, no # sorry.
Valve Cover Gaskets and Spark Plug Seals

94eg! 02-21-2013 10:05 AM

Valve cover gaskets & spark plug seals, as well as spark plugs & even thermostat have nothing to do with changing the timing belt. None of those things need to be removed while you're in there. I'm confused on where this thread became about doing a valve clearance adjustment.

I wouldn't even consider the crank & cam seals part of this job, unless there was an existing leak.
- Cam seals: 91213-R70-A02
- Front Crank Seal: 91212-R70-A02

PS: Don't spend double the price on the exact same components from the dealer. Just get the Gates kit.

This is some good information to know..Never knew Gates was the oem maker of our timing belt kit...Great job guys

that actually isnt all that outrageous....Including all that brake work and what not at 1400$ is a decent deal IMO. I've seen some dealers ask for 1500+ for just the tb/wp job.

Q_ShipTL 04-08-2019 09:22 AM

I see its been a few years since anyone has posted on here, but since I just hit 100K on my TLS I've started to research t-belt service.
Ive looked up the Gates kit TCKWP, but it seems many people are claiming water pump failure in the first year!

Verified PurchaseAt 15k after the replacement, the water pump has failed and leaked something fierce. Happened after warranty so no action other than to replace with Honda Genuine. Too bad, too. Gates was highly recommended by our mechanic.
Recommended by our mechanic as close to an OEM replacement. Works very well after 9k miles

Verified PurchaseI always recommend my side jobs to buy either Gates or Aisin because of their OEM fitment, the fact that it comes with the idler pulleys and I’ve never had belt length issues, I found I had a coolant leak from behind the timing cover, come to find out it was from the water pump housing!! The o-ring was not cut, cracked, torn or pinched between the housing yet it still leaked! Looks like I’ll be buying Aisin from now on.

Has anyone on here had any sort of bad experiences with this kit? I may just order all the parts from Acura online just to play it safe.

I've installed 2 Gates kits (at 110K and 215K) with no issues. I'm at 310K now and will be installing my 3rd Gates kit late spring / early summer. I'm pretty sure those idiots over torqued the water pump bolts...

And you're aware of the epic TB thread started by his Majesty, Majofo?

mtxjohn 04-09-2019 12:57 PM

Aisin RockAuto

How is this even a question?aisin kit from RockAuto uses all OEM parts. the only thing that isn't OEM is the actual belt and that is an oem for Toyota.
