I have my rear 3 windows very dark and the fronts have a 3M UV tint. Not that dark but I could not believe the difference it made in heat reduction.

The factory Acura sunshade sold by the dealer is excellent. It fits perfect and I've been using it for 3 years. It's amazing how much heat the dash retains. I've had cold air blowing from the AC, the interior cool and I could still feel the dash radiating heat to my face.

When I have to park my car in the sun, I'll leave the sunroof cracked and the windows barely cracked if it's a good neighborhood. When I get in, I put the sunroof in the "up" position, not the open position and drive with the rear windows cracked and AC on high but not recirculate. Once it's cooled off a bit, I put the AC on recirc and close the windows and a bit later the sunroof.

I'll get a picture tomorrow. It's a standard item that every dealer should have in the accessories part (near the keychains and bras). Fit is perfect. It has the reflective outer part and it's pretty thick and somewhat insulated. It was a long time ago, but I think price was around $18. It's more than likely a rebrand but for the money it's great.

They are called exact fit or something like that. Cancel your order, they are $30 at Acura and work perfectly. Mine rolls up and takes up more space than I would like, but fits on the floor behind the front seats.

They make pills for that problem. Watch any sports on TV and no doubt you'll soon see plenty of ads for them.

Couple of weeks ago I had to park underneath a telephone line when I went to a Nationals game (Stephen Strasburg's debut). Never seen so much bird shit on the car at one time after such a small amount of time. The trip home included a trip through a car wash to get rid of it all (the type where you drive in and the machine rotates around your car). For last Saturday's game I parked in the sun rather than risk parking on that same block and subjecting the car to bird crap on a day when the temperature was well over 90F. The TL has the strongest air conditioner of any car I've owned, especially if I set the climate control to "Lo."

I don't particularly like those cardboard screens that go in the window because I had one when I was in high school (my car then had no AC, so the carshade was important) and I noted it always left vertical lines on the glass. Are the foil-type ones shown in this thread better? I don't need one for the TL, but the RX-7 gets parked outside and it can sometimes be an oven in there when I open the doors.

That's surprising to hear. Mine is barely adequate in the middle of the summer here. It will eventually cool the car off but it can take 15 minutes if it's left in the sun with no shade. Then again, mine is black on black.

THis is by far the best sunshade there is I have owned 3 of them for different cars of mine and I love them all!! Perfect fit easy to put up and looks great from the outside unlike most that look like tin foil. Well worth the price!

Why this compared to the cans you can get at the local parts store?

As far as the BMW feature goes, it turns on the fan and opens up the vent so fresh air can flow into the cabin. It lasts for 30 minutes and in my 7 can be programmed at certain times to run.
My Audi Allroad had a solar sunroof. It powered the fan and the interior of that car (with gray leather) was always cooler than any car I have owned.

My TL is so hot, even in 70 degrees in the sun, I'm researching the best value now!

Go to home-depot and get a big roll of Reflectix for $20, trim it to fits your windows, windshield etc., and using velcro tapes to hold 'em together. This way no sun will gets into your car.
