Vinyl wrap the radio garnish

I ordered some carbon fiber vinyl wrap to put on the long side pieces that seem to get all scratched up. I got carbon fiber because it looked to be a close match to the center pieces.
I’ve never used vinyl wrap so I was apprehensive. They were a pain to do because of the curves.
I may do the area around the stick shift and the two doors under the radio when I take them off to do the 04-06 to 07-08 non Navi radio display swap.
So I’m holding off on putting the garnish back on till then. I‘m hoping to do it this weekend.
They are both done. I just took a pic like that for comparison.

Im sure no one cares. Lol

I also just picked up some vinyl to play around with. So simple yet can drive you nuts

You definitely need to do the doors.

Did you do the doors? If you did, did you do them on the doors or did you take them off? If you took them off, did you you have to remove the door panels to get them off?
Did you also do the dash pieces?

Everything is much cleaner when you take off the trim to wrap it.
You CAN wrap it without removing anything, it just won't look as good.

If you were concerned with it matching close with the factory trim pieces, you should have got plain weave instead of twill weave

On his present car. I figured with his experience, he'd done it before.

You're too quick, I edited my post

Yours turned out good though. If you want to see someone who did his full interior trim pieces, check out DeathMetal's car.

Sorry, I'm known for being too quick. Ask my wife.
I don't know the difference between twill weave and plain weave. I'll have to look that up.

I just looked them up and you are right. I just searched for black carbon fiber vinyl on eBay and bought the one I got.

Did the 04-06 to 07-08 non navi swap today and put in vinyl wrapped trim.
The 08 display is a little sctratched but I only paid $3 for it and the radio from a local partout.

I think it looks really good, accents that manual shifter nicely!

Unfortunately I’ve hit a little snag which I posted about in the “04-06 to 07-08 non navi” thread.

So would “Plain Weave” carbon fiber vinyl, match the Oem 04-06 Carbon fiber steering wheel?
