I wish I could see the fitment issues you guys are referring to, they look fine in the pics...?
You guys also know, how you hold the light as you tighten the bolts will give you 2mm of adjustment in any direction. You guys are discussing fitment issues without trying to adjust the fitment. Everything that installs with "play" needs a tweak to install.

Do you have the depos? If so do they fit perfect ?

I'm interested in getting the Type S lights for my 05 TL.. hondacuraworld.com has it for $218 + 3.95 handling for the OEM... He may be able to give a better price depending on the # of ppl interested.. Figured I start here to ask who's interested??? I personally rather get the legit ones vs DEPO.. I haven't read many issues with them.. just my personal preference... let me know.. or should I start a separate thread??? Thanks.

I got my oem Type S lights from Tim at Rak Laks Acura who is also Tim from HondaAcuraWorld.com. He gave me a pretty good deal on them. I purchase them from him last October and finally had a chance to put them on two weeks ago. It's rained down here a couple of times already and for some reason my tail lights are getting a little moisture in them. I called Tim up and told him about them and he said he'll take care of them since they are still under warranty with Acura. Tim's a really great guy and very easy to deal with also. Usually gives the best prices on whatever you want.

Anyone know what the process is for opening them up? I bought a used set of OEM type s tails from another member and fedex damaged one of them. Must have dropped the box or something...one corner cracked off and I realized afterward that they dislodged the turning reflector inside. So when I signal I can see some white light since it's not clipped closed. I'm hoping to put in a claim but if I can fix it myself, that'll be great.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Cleared Taillights
Hi,
Is anyone selling a set of cleared type S taillights?
I'd prefer OEM but the depot fitment doesn't bother me too much, as long they're priced accordingly.
Thanks,
Joe

I have been lurking on the board for a while..reading mostly ... and well time has come for me to ante up.. getting ready to sell the TL...moving up to the GS300 in a few months so returning to stock. I will have some OEM type S tails , sidemarkers and some type s wheels all in good condition..
Ive just gotta get my post count up so that I can post these items up on the Black Market.. i dont mean to thread jack but if there is any interest i would do the tails and sidemarkers together for a reasonable price.. saving someone some cash and me the time. Im in no rush just figured id put it out there. I wont talk numbers because i dont want to get banned or booted
but if there is interest ill post pics. They have been on the car a little over a year..

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer
DEPO is a company that makes headlights and taillights for cars among other things.
In this forum the posters here are comparing the Original Equipment to that manufactured by DEPO.

FRIKI... Not to sound like im nit-picking... But looking at your OEM Wing spoiler, I noticed in the pic that it looks pretty close to the edge of the trunk. Did you do the install yourself? If so, what trouble did you run into when installing it?
I'm only asking because when I did the install on my wing, it lined up differently (towards the windshield more) and it ligned up perfectly.. there were circles on the underside of the trunk for proper placement of the screws...

I think that's an aftermarket wing spoiler..... or maybe the angle is off a bit....

Does anyone know if when you buy a pair of DEPOs from ebay if they come with the LEDs or if you have to use your existing LEDs from the stock light housing. If the DEPOs come with the lights, how do they look in comparison to the OEM type-s lights?

They do NOT come with LED's. You would use/swap your existing ones from the OEM set that came with your TL. I've got Type S Depos and have been working great!

Thanks conmanwi! I'm still debating whether to save some money with the DEPOs or spend a little extra on OEMs. From reading the thread it seems that the differences are so minor that no one would be able to tell.
