None that I can find. I think you have to be a registered technician in order to pull the actual TSB sheet.

Looks pretty accurate.

You may need to add a few more.

04-016 July 23, 04 - MIL COmes On With DTC P2195 or P2197 (Supersedes 04-016, May 21, 04)

This one couldn't provide the detailed Acura-like TSB info.

Hi,

I'm kinda of dumb about automotive technical stuff, but are TSBs all the problems that they've had to fix, compiled into a list, and given out to all dealers?

In other words, are those the only problems I MIGHT run into if I get a TL? Or are there more?

thanks a lotto,
carcar

Each TSB will specificly apply for
  1. the certain VINs (group recall, update, or replacement)
  2. error codes (MIL, or misfire)
  3. whoever meets that standard and criteria. (Navi failure, brake, Audio, or ABS)

It doesn't mean you car need to have all TSBs update, however, your dealer at least should run VIN check into their computer system and make sure those #1 category TSBs has been fully applied into your cars.

For example, any 04TL before VIN 18476 should have TSB 04-005 (Driving Position Memory Module) done. Any 04TL before VIN 14224 should have TSB 04-020 (Auto tranny 2nd gear inspection recall) done. All this category TSBs should be done automatically by your service dealership without any 2nd thoughts or hesitation.

As for TSB 04-016 (MIL comes on with DTC P2195 or P2197), without having those error codes inside your ECU, you have no need to get that TSB update.

IMO, most of new cars should be trouble-free with those old TSBs.

I think 04-019 is for resurfacing rotors and change brembo pads for squeaking. Please add to the list.

"Would these problems be found in any 05?"

Yes, I've had my '05 TL for one week and the memory seat buttons have never worked -- I mean they are completely dead. I took it to the dealer yesterday. They indicated that the '05 memory system is different than '04 Tls and that TSB 04-005 (Driving Position Memory Module Replacement) does not apply.

some TSB's are just for informational purposes only. some provide technicians with tips on how to do repair. the owners will get "recall" notice if something needs fixing (like the 5AT gear issue).

if you spot a TSB and it applies to you, you can have that TSB performed, otherwise the dealers are not calling you to notify you about any TSB.

Once a prevalent problem is noticed and a "fix" is devised, a TSB is generated so that service departments can definitively address future complaints. Almost always, even before a TSB is issued, mid-production changes are made on the manufacturing/assembly line to fix the problem.

If your car was built after a TSB came out, the TSB wouldn't affect your vehicle. It is MUCH cheaper to fix the assembly process than to reimburse service departments for warranty work.

TSB's in Canada are different for some insane reason. Is there a memory seat TSB for Canada yet?

I went to the dealer with the issue once, they tried it out and it worked and there was no TSB so they didn't do anything. If there is one now I can tell them to look it up and fix the facker.
