Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill

Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill
No, this isn't a what fluid to buy or how to change question.
I have 80k on the ODO.. I don't have any real issues other than a strange stutter at low speeds 25-30mph or so; when the car is shifting into 3rd or 4th (I'm thinking it's 4th).
Is it not too late to change the fluid? And does anyone think that changing the pressure sensors for 3rd and 4th will resolve the stutter or is that most likely related to the torque converter?
Thanks!

80k is not too late though yes, you should have done it earlier. I did mine for the first time at 90k and again yesterday. Many fluids out there to choose from, I did Redline D4. It is a necessary preventative maintenance "to do" item and a day and night difference in driveability, you won't look back.

I did a 1X3 drain and fill last week and am waiting for the switches to be delivered so I can do them. It's not too late to change the fluid. No time like the present!

Great! That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure before I go ahead and change it.
I have taken all the fluid suggestions from the 10000000 threads on the subject, and I will be going with the mix of racing and D4 as suggested by Inaccurate.
Does my stuttering/jerking at low speeds and 4th gear sound like Torque Converter? Or does anyone think that changing the sensors will resolve the issue?

there's a massive thread about this on the forum.
changing the switches didn't make any noticeable difference to me, but that doesn't mean it's not doing anything. other people have noticed a noticeable positive difference.
remember that the 04-06 has a different transmission from the 07-08. i think more people with 04-06 have reported an improvement after changing switches. be aware of who you're getting comments from, and what car they own

I changed mine and my fluid just for prevention. My tranny was working fine and continues to do so to this day. Changing my switches didn't make any difference either, but when done at 60,000 miles (car now has nearly 94K), it wasn't a bad nor expensive thing to do, and if it'll prolong the tranny's life, then great!

I have an '05, and definitely felt a difference in the 3-4 upshift with a transmission fluid change (3x3). I didn't feel much difference with the first two fluid drain & fills, but after the third one there was a difference in shift feel. The little stutter went away.
I did some calculations and figured out that with a 1x3 fluid change, you get 43% clean fluid. With a 2x3, you get 67% clean fluid. With a 3x3 it bumps it up to 81%. But with a 4x3 it only increases to 89%. (This is all assuming you're draining 3 quarts out of the 7 in the system.)

The regular maintenance schedule calls for a 1x3 at 60k miles. I personally do a 1x3 every 20k miles. If the car has never had a change then 80k would be a no-brainer to do the change. If the car had the 60k change then if you followed my interval you would be due. I think a 1x3 every 20k miles is much better than waiting 60k to do a 3x3- you go through the same amount of ATF but you get to change it our sooner and monitor the wear that builds up on the magnetic plug.
