so what you are saying same tranny handles 3.2 and 3.5?
And I thought base TL (07-08) does not have a limitation like a TL-S with 135mph.....

okay last week i went camping, and on the road back, i definitely hit 140 and a little bit over; (enough to say i definitely hit 140)..
so i dunno what's up in the TL-S but as far as i know, my 04 TL definitely does this. (just wanted to post since the last time i was going this fast was a year ago and i may have remembered inaccurately...but nope, 140 is possible)

This should only be focused upon 07-08 model years of the tl and tl type-s any other model years doesn't mean a thing and has no relationship due to the transmissions being different in the 07-08 model years.

ive done it once...who knows, it MAY happen again...if its easy ill try and take a pic...lol...not going to go out of my way though...

if you guys want to solve this, heres a suggestion, have someone with a 5AT TL-S go for a dyno run or two, and ask them to run one in 4th gear and see how high/fast it can go, if it starts to stop at 130, then we know our problem.

The video I posted was with intake only and without the other mods.
WITH the mods I can report no change except to verify don5504's finding of a hard cut off, not just RPM. I was able to get enough momentum to overcome the RPM lock and hit 134...where guess what....there is a definite fuel cutoff, the car lurches just like my 07 MDX lurches when hit the governor trying to get to 120...more like it hits at 118. Anyway, there is definite fuel cutoff.....no way it hits 140, sorry.

Common, words...just words....
99% of us with TL-S Auto have the 135 limitation, as we have all tried it. To those who say they don't, and they are not willing to prove it, don't even post in this thread.
The moment we'll find that a TL-S auto is capable of going above 135mph...that's when we all can start scratching our heads in confusion.
PS No, I don't need all of this speed, but when I do track, I want to have some confidence behind me, as I don't wish to get owned by a ricer civic.

Hey man, not asking you to do anything. It's hard for me to believe after testing my car in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico. I have plenty of space to test.....I don't run out of room. The car is limited at 134.
Video I took with my cellphone(I don't carry a video camera around with me all the time either...sorry), with both hands still on the wheel.

Video shows the car stops pulling...but the main thing is the RPM stops at 5250 or so RPM.
I given the a case as why it would be liimited at 134----->Tranny, Engine borrowed from the RL ---->limit 134.
So, in summary, not asking you to do anything....just from my expierence and reasoning...I wouldn't just off the cuff not believe it if I didn't have any info to back up my own claim. At first I thought it was my own car and didn't say anything when I saw other threads pop up about top speed. But now I'm finding that many others with the same car are finding the same limit. So I chimed in. Doesn't mean I drive like this all the time. Doesn't mean I care if my car goes faster than 134 or not.
Anyway....that why it's hard for me to believe......not asking you to make any videos...not asking anyone.......

Why where you only in 4th. If ur checking for top speed u would run all 5 gears out of 5 or 6 depending on how u look at the over drive.... So u failed the test before u started.... Try again run all the gears
