2008 tl type s auto

Price: $26,535

that sounds about right for typical dealer price. But you can get the car for cheaper.

He set you up at the 28K price. That way, if the online price came up, he can say..."We've already dropped the price by $1,500....." Don't buy into it. I bet there is a chance for him to drop the price by another 1.5K to 2K. Be patient and be ready to get up and walk out at anytime. Check out Edmunds.com for their TMV (true market value) price. It will give you an idea as to what they are going for in your area.

Does it come with a CPO warranty? It seems like the going used price that people are quoting on this site varies from 24K to 26K.

I somewhat agree with Jared - $34K might be a little high, but $26.5K doesn't seem that far off.

This may help in your search, but I didn't see any AM.

There is no chance in hell they will sell you that car for $22k. It ain't happening, trade in value for it is higher than that.

Cash isn't an incentive for a dealer to work with you either, they want you to finance so they can get a kickback on it.

That's a good price. I got mine for 27k 4-5 months ago with 30k miles and it's a 07. The 08s were going for $29-30k with 15k miles they had at the time.

thanks for all the input guys, i really appreciate it...i just moved to florida so i dont have all my friends back home to talk to about cars really :thumbsdow

i planned on adding the dealer aspec body kit and maybe steering wheel and seats so id be spending maybe a grand or two extra(maybe another bargaining chip?)

this is only my second car and the first was a private seller so i dont know all the dos and donts of used car dealers but i did know he was trying to fuck me with the 28k

i just might have to hold out bc i really think AM suits me better but maybe a paint job? out of the hundred TLs from surrounding dealers there were 2 type s so i may have to grab this one

still undecided

Seems to me you aren't listening to others here. The 28k price for a 08 TL-S is GOOD. Especially if it's CPO. No one was trying to fk you on it. You will never get near the price you are thinking about.

I'll agree with everyone else - the price seems decent, but don't settle for a color you don't want. Expand your search radius; don't be afraid to fly somewhere to buy exactly what you want and drive it home. $25-30k is too large of an investment to not get exactly what you want.

A good paint job will be $4000 and will make it unsellable in the future (VIN wont match)...Don't do it

Seems you like the color AM, that will be within your budget since it will be a base TL instead of a TypeS. The price is very fair for a low mileage TypeS. And the black and black is sometimes hard to come by. You really need to see what your gut is telling you, if Black is not your first choice, I will keep looking. Good Luck!

I would consider it on a tl, but feel it is not needed on a type s.
You could save the money from the kit and paint and buy performance parts.
You car, though, do what makes you happy.

correct me if im wrong(which i may be) but the type s is just an improved engine and a few cosmetics upgrages of the interior and exterior and then the foglights ans nav standard

it doesnt have a different bumper/skirt combo does it? i really like the look of a the ronjon on a slammed tl

im getting the type s for a bigger engine and all the bells and whistles

oh and thanks for the help steven but im loking for type s and i learned they didnt release it in AM

don't make the mistake i did and settle for a car that is not exactly what you want. get the color you want!

as for the price, it's fair, but you can definitely get that lowered.

my personal suggestion would be to get the car inspected by one of those professional car inspection companies (like aim mobile inspections, carchex, etc)

happy shopping, and good luck!

If you've never owned a black car and didn't feel the desire to, don't buy this car. I have a SSM Accord and my fiancé has a NBP coupe. I love my car everytime I wash it but die inside everytime I finish washing hers. The swirls and light scrathes are so apparent on black cars. It's a full time job keeping them looking good.

well besides the color its my dream car...so i think a paint job is in order (once i get all the bodt add ons i want)

as for inspections, wouldnt the certified pre owned aspect cover anything wrong?

i was really indifferent to car color as long as its not white, but i loved the AM...my best friend down here has a black escalade and it doesnt look like it gets TOO dirt but like ive said before ill prolly a new paint job

(i got a chunk of money to mod this car on top of the purchase)

It's more than just a different engine. Interior is different, suspension is different, brakes and exhaust are different, transmission is programmed differently.

With that said, I wouldn't spend that much money on a car then get a full repaint on it. Going from black to a lighter color makes the repaint much harder, you'd be looking at probably around $8,000 for a quality job. The car would have to be torn down, engine bay repainted, all the door sills, etc. Even then it might not come out the way you want it. Plus it would destroy it's resale value.

^^ Plus it's the RL transmission, it has different rear bumpers, and has smoked chrome accents. The TL-S is worth it over the regular TL.

If you can afford a paint job and don't care about it bringing down the resale value thats great, we would love to see some pictures!

It seems like a good price to me but if you're uncertain there are plenty of Acura dealers in the FLL/MIA area to check out. I bought mine from Miami Acura in Kendell. However, I did buy my wife's Odyssey from Rick Case and was very pleased with the deal they gave us. I'm going to check out their Acura dealership when the lease on my 08 expires early next year.

Quick Reply: is this too much for a type s?
