TL Type-S deal thoughts
Hey guys, just wanted some thoughts on my recent car purchase. I bought an 08 TL Type-S in Nighthawk Black Pearl with 125,000 miles for $9000 with an unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty for $1500. Overall the car costed $10500 with the warranty. What do y'all think of the deal? Was it good or bad

this is a great way to get buyers remorse...
plus, the deal all revolves around the condition of the car...
if you bought a shitty roughed up car for 10k, then yes. you got ripped the fuck off.
plus, you can find TL-S' for way under $10k.
But hey, you asked

I've bought my car for far too much, because I was worried it might break down, so having warranty was reassuring.
In the end owning my first car made me go into learning how to fix it, and becoming mechanic. And since you are in similar age (according to your profile) to me, you might go through the same route.
Now "if I could turn back time" I would pick cheaper one, and fix it up, and would end up better than I'm now. But hey, car never left me stranded on the side of the road, and was really dependable of last couple years and ~30k miles I put on it and I'm not planning to sell it anytime soon.
So I would say, don't think about it and time will tell if you got a good deal. Just take car of it - maintenance is the key.

Btw the car is in perfect condition, it was garaged its whole life, no rips in interior and dash is still intact. However the rims are just a little curbed

that still doesnt tell us anything at all.
there are three options...
you got a fair deal.
you got a bad deal.
or
you got a great deal.
The MORE you think about it, the more BUYERS remorse you're going to have.
Stop thinking about the deal, as it's already done.
Now get out there and enjoy your car.

Doesn't sound to bad at all, earlier this year i bought my 2007 Acura TL Type S with only 107000km Blue Pearl for only $7800 Canadian I consider myself very lucky finding that car for that price, so far no problems just did the TB, WP and spark plugs. With that warranty and if the body is in good shape and low mileage you shouldn't have any problems and have alot of fun.

With 125K miles was the timing belt kit done at 105K? Hows the trans fluid? Tires? A lot goes into factoring a good deal, need way more info.

.
most of the aftermarket warranty won't cover anything because they all fall into the clause "existing condition", unless the vehicle going through their inspection or manufacture inspection with report generated. Anything else is consider "existing condition"
Check your warranty coverage and see if they actually cover stuff. If not cancel it and get a refund. It should cover the transmission at a minimum!

Just bought the same car 2 weeks ago and got it for 9 grand. After financing was a tad above 10k. Almost same deal but with 118k and no warranty. Loving every minute of it and thats all the counts. Mine is also super clean 1 owner and the owner was an older person. The carfax report was super clean and upto date.
