Thinking of wrapping the Aspec front lip in carbon fiber

Scratched like 3 inches of paint on the corner of my front aspec lip a few months ago. Instead of repainting the lip, I'm thinking of just wrapping the front lip in 3m di noc vinyl. Good idea?

My car is NBP so it should blend relatively well. Only issue is that 3m dinoc is matte. If only it was glossy...

Eh, I think it'll look out of place with the rest of the kit. If anything, I'd only do the accent piece on the bottom of the lip, not the entire thing.

On carbon fiber gears' site they say to use valspar clear coat but don't do more then 3 coats cause then it'll start to lift and curl and you'll also loose the carbon effect by "filling" in the grooves of the pattern.

If you want it to look shiney you can always use Black Magic Tire shine on it that's what I use on mine and it stays for days.

DUDE! i did the same thing! and i was gonna do the same to mine! it will work... cheapest way is with Di-noc CF vinyl... but i only plan to do the lower half, and im going to use touch up paint on the painted part. i hoping it will kind of hide it since my car is NBP

I wrapped the grey section in black vinyl, it's really not too difficult or time consuming at all. While I don't think this is going to look particularly good, why not give it a shot?

I was thinking to do the black part of the front and back aspec, hood and top .. sorry to jack the tread but i was thinking to buy a whole roll of the vinyl cost around 600 bucks for 4ftx90ft i mean ill only take probably 15ft at most...any one want to split it? its still gonna be way cheaper then 5 bucks per sq ft... ebay sells 4x6 for 100+...

Glossy 3M Di-Noc CF just came out a few weeks ago and is available at our local Nextmod shop in Toronto. I'm sure you could find it online or at your car shop.

well being a 5 year old thread I think OP lived up to his namesake and got killed

If you want to do it, why not go ahead and just try it! It's just a wrap and can just as easily be removed later if it doesn't look that great.

F it imma try it problem is that I bought the type S a spec front lip and I'm going to tweak it to fit my base line, and then if I add the carbon fiber look I fear it wont be that subtle...
