Thinking of buying this 2008 Acura Tl Type-S
So Im planning on buying a 2008 Tl Type s from New York its a clean title car. I ran the car fax it shows one owner. Here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acura-TL-Type-S-2008-white-acura-tl-type-s-low-mileage-orig-owner-amazing-and-mint-car-/261505244979?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3ce2ed5f33&item=261505244979&pt=US_Cars_TrucksLet me know what you guys thinks if this car is clean or should I wait for something nicer. The car needs to be WDP.

In the pictures it looks pretty decent with the exception of the ding and really excessive fingernail scratches behind the door handles lol. Never seen that before. Maybe it's a chics car that has long fingernails I don't know. The only other thing that would deter me from this car is it's obviously not a garage kept vehicle and looks like it spends it's life in an apartment parking lot. Not ideal, but that's just my search criteria and someone else may not care one way or the other. Otherwise it looks great and has nice and low miles and the black interior.

Eh. The interior looks a little beat up to me. Seats look dirty, carpet is dirty, the glove box is banged up, and the dash is faded (although might just need some cleaner to bring it back to life). Overall, just too many flaws on the interior, but I'm pretty anal about keeping my interior clean.
Definitely a girls car. My aunt always has her nails done/has long nails and her door handle on her camry looks just like that. My mom's car on the other hand has no scratches cause she never has long nails/gets her nails done.
Edit: just looked over the pictures again and noticed a hair tie on the e-brake. Definitely a girls car.

Yeah I hate when people say mint or showroom condition. I mean, do they realize that a ding or scratches or worn interior is not mint condition? I mean hell, my TL-S with 12,000 miles isn't even technically mint. I just think people throw that word around too much when selling cars.
Anyway, what these guys said above is true. I would keep your options open and find another one. White Type S's are not hard to find so as long as you don't require it to have a manual transmission.

Agreed with all you. Definitely not a mint condition!

Just because it isn't mint doesn't mean it's not a good car to purchase. Couple of observations:
1) Lol, clean the bird shit off your car before taking pictures to sell it... (rear left quarterpanel).
2) The scratches on both side door handles are absolutely awful: even the ones on my car aren't that bad and white is the hardest color to notice scrates on. Perhaps the condition of the paint isn't as good as the owner thinks it is.
3) Interior seems to be scuffed and scratched too: glove box, kick panels, gouged/streched vinyl on pass door panel, and the leather seats look like they were neglected.
Any of us can sit here and list the imperfections we see in these photos. I think the car is in great condition for how old it is, the seasons it's been through, and the amount of miles on it. I wouldn't pay 19k for it, but it's definitely a great option if you're looking for one of these, especially since it's in the color that you want. If you aren't too far away, go check it out! Since there has only been one owner, he should be able to answer all of the questions about the car's history and provide service records.

Mint condition but has dings and scratches, seriously what is considered to be mint condition nowadays?
That being said, it's a 6yr old car so some of those things are expected. Price is very fair considering the miles. I bought my '08 base model with 57600 on it for $16k and it has much more than a couple dings and scratches.

Anytime I see a used car the first things I look at besides the car itself and the description is where the pictures are taken and the environment it's spent it's life in. When I see pictures of a car parked outside in an apartment complex parking lot I typically wouldn't consider the car. I would look elsewhere, but that's my opinion.

^^ Lol
As others have said its a good condition car not mint. Although the car isn't terrible maybe the girl wasn't as anal as most of the guys here. It's still a valid option considering it also has 49xxx on the clock.

You might be able to knock some $$$ off the bottom line, just with the sloppy details like the interior condition and the scratch/dents. When you make it sound that those details are putting you off about how the car was maintained, there is a possibility they will be able to get bargained down.
If you do get more cash off the price then you'd be walking away with a steal at that mileage. Unless there's something sneaky wrong with the car of course.

I noticed a lot of white cars tend to show fingernail scratches a lot more. It's always caused by girls and their nails I guess. Usually buffs out no problem though since those are usually very light scratches.

I think somethign is being overlooked here...... Everyone's just talking about how the car is not in mint condition. OP if you're looking for a mint condition TL-S, you'll be looking forever. The important thing is to not pay more than a car is worth... If you find one with low miles in the color you want, I would argue that it's a serious contender. Every single car price posted assumes haggling will take place. That's when you inspect the car and get a lower price based on condition.
