Suspension parts from junkyard??

Would you consider buying suspension arms from a wrecked car from junkyard?

My car is being hysterical over road crown changes and changing lanes on 3lane interstate is becoming unpredictable.... But I don't have the energy to replace LCA at home(est. 3hr each for me) so I'm planning to buy a set and do the bushings myself (10min job with impact) and take it to a shop to get the arms swapped out.

These pictures make me wonder if I should avoid the driver side LCA or passenger side or we never really know and I should go find one that's wrecked from the back?

I would find one that was wrecked in the back.

Have you checked what the price of a new 3rd party control arms is. I don't know the year of your car, but most movotech on rockauto are 70-80 dollars each and they have new bushings and ball joints (if that is part of the LCA). I want you to know that I have one of the cheapest of asses and that is the route I would explore first.

just a heads up regarding LCAs for third gen acura tls.... there is a slight difference between the LCAs for 04-06 and 07-08 as noted on the second page of the thread i'm linking below.:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-t...acment-960631/

Some of the aftermarket companies like Mevotech are being dishonest when they list the 04-06 LCA as being directly compatible with 07-08. If you see an LCA listed as being compatible for all the years between 2004 to 2008 then you know there is something shady going on with that part.

I thought of it too but I've heard some stories that some dimensions don't match and didn't want to risk it - perhaps was it the Type S having 12mm sway bar link ? Plus.. that says so much about their attention to quality I won't know until someone cuts the two open and compare or do some strength testing which will never happen. And now that it's in 3G forum, I'd like to add I want to stick to oem qualtiy bushings for steering precision and whatnot. Meanwhile junkyard arms go for $50~100 so it was just matter of me negotiating a good price. I'm being a cheap ass too, or at least trying.

Hmm interesting. I thought it was only type S that had larger hole but just did some part # search for 06 07 and 07 type S and 06 has SDA and 07(regardless whether type S) has SEP in the part number. Thanks for the heads up.
