Suggestion for replacement LED reverse light
Suggestion for replacement LED reverse light
Currently using these from VLEDs and want something brighter.
http://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbe...79-1-pair.html
I only paid $39 at the time (or was it $35?) and they were listed at 370 lumens.
It's the same part # (I checked my invoice) but now it costs $45 and is advertised at 500 lumens (I don't believe it)
I was looking on eBay for alternative reverse lights that costs less than $35 and came across these .
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-T10-906-921-912-High-Power-11W-Samsung-LED-Chip-Backup-Projector-Light-Bulbs-/121316585219?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3f082f03&vxp=mtr
and

Anyone have any better brighter/quality options? VLEDs quality never let me down, I just want something brighter.
I have a back-up camera and would like a reverse light that is also side-emitting. I had a CREE LED reverse light at once and hated it. It casted a giant white hot spot in the center of the back-up camera display because it's a focused beam of light rather than evenly lighting up the ground.

I installed a reverse LED from ijdmtoy.com. So impressed with the price and performance that I just ordered another set for my other vehicle. This is what I got:
10-326 360-degee Extreme Bright Plasma High Power Error Free 168 194 2825 W5W 912 921 906 T15 LED Bulbs $19.99
The $19.99 is for one package with TWO bulbs. I don't have a backup camera so I don't know how these bulbs work for that- all I can say is they are bright!! Just checked and they are 500 lumen.
There's a 10% off discount code this month too: GoJDM

I don't understand how much more brighter can you go? V-Leds is bright enough. I currently run the VLEDs 5K that you mention and I mean those things are bright.. I had my few share of LED bulbs and nothing compares to VLEDs.. Anything else I would think is garbage.. IMO.

If I get a chance, I'll take a picture of my reverse lights so you can get an idea.
These are the 1st option from 1st post. I don't have a picture of a backup camera but I can do it tonight. There is a lot more light compare to stock bulbs.
I got a similar projection bulb as the ones listed above on amazon:
Amazon.com: JLC CREE 5W High Power SMD 921 194 2825 W5W LED Bulbs - powered by CREE Q5 LED: Automotive

go to auto zone and get Sylvania LED's
after 3 sets of license plate lights, these are the best fitting(snug) lights i've come across...
and i've even had more expensive bulbs (super illuminations) that gave me flicker.
The sylvanias fit snug, like OEM bulb. very happy

Not hard at all.
It requires removing the trunk lining which is held in place by like 10 clips. Just use a Philips head to remove the clips and take the trunk lining off than you'll have access to the license plate and reverse lights

Installing the reverse lights are super easy. It doesn't even require an explanation.
Installing the license plate lights are a bit more difficult. The sockets for the bulbs are supposed to be removed so that you can quickly change the bulbs out. You might get lucky, or you might be there for a while trying to get it out. There are two tabs on the sides that you're supposed to push in to pull it, but it's very hard to push both at the same time. Also, the tabs can break pretty easily, especially for their age. IIRC they cost $4 each, so they are easily replaceable.
For both, you need to pull back the trunk liner.

Just installed my IJDMTOY reverse lights. They are noticably brighter and I like the color way better.

Cost me about $25, and a few hours. I upped them a bit. So, they're probably putting out about 1200lu now.

I just got the projector style like those JLC bulbs and it's very concentrated. Might move them to my license plate lights or courtesy door lights.
Thinking of picking up another projector bulb set with the LEDs on the side of them to illuminate it even better. iJDMtoy ones look pretty nice.

Some of these don't look bad. I actually had the 5watt wide angle, but they were way too dim.

Those 10w Samsung for $25 seems like a good deal or even these 20w leds for $22. They even have 25w starting at $25 a pair, and the lumens range from 750lu-1000lu.
