STi Front Lip-For Type S A-Spec

Okay, so I've read countless threads and talked to numerous ppl about this but I still don't have a real good answer. Im trying to put a STi front lip on a 2007 Type S A-Spec. I've seen ppl say 05-06, 06-07, and recently 11-14. So I have no idea which year out of the three to buy now. Not one person I talked to has put one on anything but a base A-Spec. I've beat this subject to death! If you've done this or have another option please let me know(no im not putting garage door seal on my car). **pics wanted** Thanks guys.

Heres another semi-helpful thread https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...ffuser-868318/

2006 sti lip
06 07 Impreza S204 Front Bumper Lip Urethane | eBay

^That one

(not my photos.. just did a little searching)
You can use the holes the lip has already but they might not be enough. You can see on the right this guy has two extra holes to mount the lip.

You will be drilling straight into the bumper.

Tape the lip up so you can see how it will fit. Use a screw if you need to.

Part of it will stick into the wheel well. Mark how much to cut off.

Take the lip off, cut the edges so it will fit then bolt the lip up...

You can see he drilled straight through the lip into the bumper anywhere there is room.

I'm in the same boat about being confused as to which lip to get.

jon and alex,

your guys' sti lips look different (and the pictures are from different angles so it's hard to tell) but do you guys know which one this might be? saw this guy on the facebook group (first time really even looking around there)

Trying to think of what it'd look like on a Type-S front A-Spec...

Edit: Might have answered my own question. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the 06-07 lip. If anyone has additional pics/info of this one that'd be awesome. 100 bucks for one from eBay does sound pretty steep though...

I got in on eBay, its the 11-14 V-Style lip. I paid $80 shipped. It required some molding with a heat gun. Fitment is damn near perfect on the sides.

His and my STI splitter style lip is indeed the same lip... looks like the same exact model too. The 05 has a very very similar if not identical version of this lip as well. I however have twice now purchased the 06 lip so I suggest that one.

They look different because the TL has a larger front end than my ILX. So the lip sits more hidden on that car. You could push the lip forward more when mounting it but it may be more narrow that the aspec lip kit.

As for the ebay ad you showed, that is indeed the lip you posted on the last two TLs. You can probably find it cheaper on ebay somewhere. It will have identical mounting point as the lips alex and I used but that one has winglets. Both are for the 2006 sti just different styles.

I personally like it without winglets but to each their own!

Good luck!!

As you can see it is even a little narrow for my car, but I pulled the sides to fit as best as possible.

Been reading the past hour on this same topic.. Haven't found a definite answer..

Sent my buddy that has a 2013 STI to measure his front bumper from side to side following the outer edge to compare with the TL..

I have an 08 Base with the A-Spec lip for that year, I havent found a an 08 WITH base Lip and this STI lip on it yet..

Ah interesting..the guy who owns that car told me that his is actually 2 of the lips molded together (like you said, the TL is wider, which is why I couldn't figure out how the winglets flared out that much.)

Thanks for the reply guys. I have heard some online rumors that two Type-S A-Spec TL's(pics ive seen) had them cut and molded so its longer. I want it to stick out on both sides and the front because im making custom sideskirt and rear bumper diffusers too. The front bumpers just more of a challenge to make from scratch. Every style is so different tho, its hard to choose!
