Size of 2006 TL Fuel Tank

I've got a 2006 TL which I love. However, I really don't think that the fuel tank capacity is 17 gallons as documented.

I have a bad habit of sometimes running very low on fumes (when the orange light has been on for 20 miles or more), and I have not been able to fill the tank with more than 13 gallons of fuel.

Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks!

how many gallons are left in the tank at the moment when the light comes on?

This has nothing to do with individual car's gas mileage, and all about the guage calibration.

Honda TL 2006, not certain as to the capacity, but the Acura TL:
17.09 Gal tank
Light on @ 14, so 3 gal remaining.

The tank is 17+ gallons, the low fuel light comes on early and the DTE also reports early. Just how these cars go about their business. That said, I was able to log two 500+ mile tanks last November; neither took more than about 14.5 gallons; I could easily have gotten 600 miles out of those tanks without running the tank dry.

Thanks for the reply.
when I am trying to fill the tank its stops filling at 13 Gallons and whether there is some in the tank or not [let say it has about 3 to 4 gallons], before this, when it was almost empty, I was only able to fill it up to 13 gallons.

Do you guys think its something to do with the tank or calibration is wrong? if calibration is wrong how would I go about fixing it?

Thanks.

^no. the sensor stops at 13 gallons and you can drive an additional 4 gallons to make a 17 gallon tank.

For what it's worth; I only fill up 13 gallons at a time, as that's when the fuel shut off on the pump comes on.
I never drive the additional four gallons and just fill it up with 13 gallons always.

No, that's just how the tank is calibrated on all 3G TLs. FWIW, 2001 V6 Accord had a tank rated just over 17 gallons as well, the only difference is it wouldn't show full empty until up in the 15.5 to 16.5 gallon range, my TL has the low fuel light come on in the low to mid 13 gallon range and the DTE on the computer won't show zero until about 14 gallons has been consumed.

The listed tank capacity is 17.1 gallons. On my TL, when miles to go reaches 0, I still have about 2.8 gallons left in the tank. FYI, if you slow fill/top off the tank, you can stuff about 19.5 gallons in it.
