Should I be worried?
My TL was actually purchased from the owner AS-IS, with no maintenance records whatsoever, all he told me was that it needs a little bit of maintenance when i bought it. I was able to snag the car for 3500$. He also told me the timing belt, accessory belt, water pump service was done at 180,000 km and so i guess i cant do anything else but believe him.
I've done all the basic maintenance to the car so far. Fixed up the powersteering pump leak, oil pan leak, passenger engine mount, changed the oil about 3 times since ive gotten it 1 year ago, tranny fluid 3x3 etc, brake fluid change, coolant fluid change. Compliance bushings changed also. pressure swtiches done. The car now runs perfectly fine, although the scariest thing for me is the fact that the owner had no maintenance records and so im not sure at 160k miles if i should into coilovers or wheels i've always wanted because im afraid the motor might die, because he showed no record of miantenance before on paper.
At this point, what should i do? take the gamble and upgrade the suspension and hope the owner actually did the oil changes and etc, or drive this car to the ground. Im planning to purchase a newer car within 2 years but i sort of want those two years to be in "style" (coils, wheels, etc.). Should i just keep my money right now to maintain or do what i want for the vehicle?
Do you think the motor will last?
