Seat heater

Do the seat heaters warm up the back only or the bottom?

Only the bottom for the passenger seat; but the heaters warm both the bottom and backrest of the driver's seat.

Welcome to AZ.

Huh. The bottom of the driver's seat doesn't seem to heat up, only the back. What could be the problem?

Hardly impossible as bottom and back compose one electrical circuit.

The heat pad element, is no longer good. You can buy one at your dealership or on line (Any oem site). Luckily, the drivers seat bottom is the easier one to replace. You still need to remove the leather to replace the element.

It is not difficult to repair it on your own on the other hand. I did it one month ago and fixed all 3 mates. You just need soldering iron, multimeter and and obout 5cm of wire for each circuit brake.
The key question is do you feel you can do it.

How long did it take you to repair one? I'm willing to do the repair if it doesn't take more than a day's work. I'm OK with a soldering iron, multimeter and I've wires. Do I need to cut the leather?

Hard to say how long did it take as I did it in the evenings and restored the leather.
Seats removal and disassemble is easy and I estimate it on half hour. The pain is to remove leather covers and put them back when you reusing rings tightening the covers to frame. If it would be your first time, I suppose you should manage to proceed in 6-7 hours.
