SeaFoam is the best

I have added seafoam into my fuel as well through the intake as described and the results are amazing. I feel a great difference in my TL's acceleration and overall performance. What do you guys use to clean your engines and what other parts of the car should I maintain regularly to get the best performance?

if you have an automatic, the most important thing is changing the transmission fluid. There are countless examples of auto transmission failures, mine being one of them. I really still haven't figured out what the best way to keep the transmission healthy. there are 3x3 exchanges (search them). some people change the filter which isnt even a service at the dealership. Some shops have a vacuum where they actually suck out the old tranny fluid. I think the best thing is get it done instead of doing it yourself as long as you know the shop has the machine to suck out the old fluid and change the filter ever 30K miles or what every is recommended. the filter DIY is in the garage as well as the 3X3 fluid exchange.

moral of the story is, buy a manual car.

Then all you'll need to worry about is the clutch assembly and syncros.
There have been A/T trans with 200k+ miles no problems, same as 6M/T, and there have been repairs needed on both with <100k miles.

Same dog, different fleas as Turbonut says

I dont use any of those things I dont like seafoam personally view them all as snake oil, thats just me. I would say just make sure oil changed regularly, plugs changed, valves adjusted when time, belts replaced and timing belt and water pump done and AT servicing which was already noted. I need to do my AT in both my TLs but have been putting it off but they have very low miles and not DD so I can wait.

Lots of threads discussing various "snake oils" over the years. Most are "generally" not needed assuming you run Top Tier fuel. If a vehicle has been neglected over the years running less than optimal fuels...there may be some benefits. All personal opinion these days....and some extremely strong opinions are usually shared.

Personally...I don't usually put Seafoam in my TL. I use it on my mowers and other small engines...but rarely on a car anymore.

The only reason I started using seafoam is because I had gotten water into my engine through the intake. I wanted to make sure that everything inside the engine is clean of any leftover debris.

TL and 7th gen Accord shares the same AT trans. I have 253k miles on my 07 Accord V6, zero issue. I do run an external B&M trans cooler and 1x1 on the trans fluid every 15k miles and change the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches every 50k miles.

knowing my sh*t luck, if I decide to put sea foam in then the chance of CEL lit pretty high. I tried the injector cleaner bottle in my Accord and the CEL lit up as CAT need replacement (yes I already replacing the 02 sensor), no more cleaning agent for me beside top tier gas.

I use Chevron Fuel Injection cleaner + I put 1/2 seafoam bottle inside engine, drive 30-50 miles then get oil change.

If you use seafoam inside your engine, make sure you time it before your next oil change to flush it out. Also i heard that this can also damage spark plugs, so suggest you also time it before you change them.

I have used Seafoam on outboard engines and flushed it out soon after running the engine for a short period of time. I don't think I would use it in my Acura. Like the comment from 08KBP_VA--I just change the oil regularly (every 3K) and have had no problems over 105K miles.

Why not? I used to be wary of Seafoam, but since I started using it in the gas tank a tankful of gas right B4 (synthetic) oil changes, I've noticed a
substantial improvement in throttle response. Even though I only use Top Tier gas, it still makes enough of a difference in my star ship to stick with it.

265K miles and counting!

I run a half pint in the crank case right before an oil change and put the other half pint in the tank. I run Top Tier 87 octane gas, but I can't really tell any difference after running the Sea Foam in the tank nor would I expect to. I'm not really sure if Sea Foam offers any benefits beyond what the detergents in Top Tier gas offers, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't hurt anything either.

If you haven't been running Top Tier gas and haven't used any type of detergent additive/injector cleaner and then all of a sudden decide to run Sea Foam or an equivalent cleaner/detergent, I suppose it's possible that byproducts of the cleaning action could foul O2 sensors. Dunno...

For some reason, "Top Tier 87 octane gas" sounds like an oxymoron to me. Especially for a car that has premium recommended.

unnecessary.

you're welcome to put it but some people just don't think it's necessary... just a matter of personal opinion.
