Car got hit in the parking lot, #9.
This makes the 9th time the car has been hit/damaged while sitting in a parking lot. I park very far away from everything but in the past, a tree fell on it when it was a few months old, a welding truck hit it when it was literally the only car in the parking lot. A chick hit it in an old mall parking lot where there were about 5 cars in this huge parking lot and I parked far away from anyone. It just attracts bad luck.
This time I came out from Valentines day dinner and there was a note under the wiper stating my car was hit with a number. I walked around to the back and sure enough, paint transfer and my paint was flaking off. I called the chick and I was thinking about coming out of pocket since she actually left her number but she started the whole "are you sure that wasn't already there, there was white paint and my car isn't white" so I decided right then she was going to foot the bill instead of helping her out.
That's it, just another parking lot hit to document. This should be fun, I love body shops.

The pics would be disappointing. Just some white scratches and paint flaking off. I'm not sure the bumper cover needs replacing.

They must love me. I'm taking it back to the only bodyshop that did great work which happens to be the first one I took it to. That happened to be in Feb of '06, just 2 months after I bought it in Dec of '05. In fact, that was Feb 13th of '06 and this was on Feb 14th of '13. Maybe I'll start keeping it in the garage in the month of February.

i know that feeling all to well with a car you keep up with and it gets hit while parked. The same thing happened to my prelude 5 times, eventually my last accident it got totaled. Now what i do when i go out i try to park next to an island or park anywhere where a vehicle can park on one side. I back in so that way i can see the damage (IF ANY) when i come back. Anyways sorry didnt mean to hi-jack. If the girl was going to try to deny why leave her phone number, stupidity. Did you record the conversation when you called her?

yup over the weekend it was very windy here. i had to run to walmart, so i pull in the parking lot and park my car (far away from anyone elese) and finished up a phone call i was on. as i'm sitting there, i see a shopping cart heading towards me FULL SPEED (wind speed) and i have to hop out of my car with the quickness and stop the shopping cart from slamming into my car.
i assume it was left by one of those awesome people that don't like to walk the extra 15 feet and put their cart away. needless to say, i moved my car again, even farther away. if i hadn't been on that phone call i would have came out to my car with a huge dent in it.

Is your car black? For some reason, people tend to not see black cars even if it's stationary.

So, is it just early February, IHC?? The month isn't over yet...
I also park far away from the masses. Once I came out of the store and there was someone parked next to me in one of those far away spots. Yeah, I checked for door dings, but weird, huh?
If I can't find an island to use as a shield, I'll use a shopping cart return space for protection.

stay away from high traffic areas in a parking lot including the cart return and entrances. your risk for damage goes up unless you dont' care about what happens to the car.

I was protected on 3 sides but she managed to get the one that wasn't protected. My luck I guess. Going to get an estimate after work today. I was parked in front of a tanning place and there's always someone in the window with a clear view of my parking spot. The girl that works there said it was a customer and she saw it happen.

Got hit in the east hills mall?
Seriously, such a deserted place to be hit.
Sorry for your loss bro. Hopefully you can get insurance money or something. Try giving your insurance your number? Bug the hell out of that bitch
Bakersfield drivers are the worst drivers

I wish my problems were dealing with dings and scuffs. I got hit with a deer... TWICE in the SAME DAMN spot. Had to pay out of pocket... First month of getting my clean fresh TL I get tackled by a deer doing 25 mph.

Agreed. I get amazed every day, especially taking Taft Hwy to work.

My previous 2G TL was hit twice while parked and I didn't get a note either time. It was also black. I had many a close call with that car, idiots pulling out in front of me or into my lane like I wasn't even there. I have to agree with mn2trance.

I have the headlights on 100% of the time and it seems to cut down on the people pulling out in front when you're moving but not a whole lot of good in the parking lot.
About a year ago I had a chick pull out in front of me while I was doing 55mph. I swerved hard enough to mess up the leather on the steering wheel and I grazed her front bumper, leaving only a transfer of paint that I was able to rub out. It's a scary moment when you actually tap the other car at that kind of speed.
On another note, I have 1,000 lumens worth of light on my mountain bike. It's mostly for mountain runs at night but it stops cars dead in their tracks on the street. They will sit and wait for you to go past instead of pulling out in front and at night I usually get flashed with high beams before they realize it's a bicycle. I would probably get a ticket from a cop but it's worth it to not have people pulling out right in front.

One time I was coming up on a traffic signal on a two lane street in the right lane, some idiot was trying to make a left turn from the left lane instead of the turning lane holding up about 5 cars behind them. As I was coming up to pass going about 30 one of the drivers pulled out right in front of me and I had to swerve as there no way I would have been able to brake in time, there was just enough room and I missed him by a hair. I even had some dumbass cop pull into my lane without stopping at a cross street and again had to swerve. Happy to say I've never actually been in an accident (as the driver), only had one minor fender scrape. Someone did run the red once and t-bone me as a passenger.
I don't blame you for having a mini sun on your bike.

Happy Holidays!
Some m****f***** gave me several sharp dents to my passenger side door. I believed it happened at a shopping mall lot like Target. No note! No nothing!

I can't believe how much this town has progressed I remember years ago there wasn't really much traffic and rosedale was nothing but dirt and construction, there wasn't much cars to begin with. Now 4-6pm is traffic time with everyone rushing home. Hwy 58 is jam packed, rosedale is crowded everywhere, AHHHHHH
plus throw in the mix of bad drivers Lol
I've seen people get ran over on california ave towards mt vernon. Wasn't really the drivers fault as the people were walking across when the walk sign was off and that lane's light was green but that car was definitely driving 55mph +
welp i hope your car does't get hit anymore
i've been noticing tons of small dents on my drivers side door when i look into the reflection
i wonder how they got there
