Rear view mirror on a 2004 TL

Forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place. My rear view mirror seems to have a darker tint to it than other rear view mirror I'm used to. Mainly my 2013 Camry and my 2008 civic.
Is this normal? It seems slightly grey or greenish.

Make sure the auto dimmer is off. There's a button on the bottom of the mirror.

I tried that. Makes no difference if it's on or off. The best way to describe it, it looks tinted. I may try to take a picture of it.

It is not as "clear" as a manual mirror. It will have a slight tint to it. The real question is if the auto-dim is still working or not...

I don’t know if the dimming works or not.
So auto-dimming mirrors are not as “clear” as regular ones? I’ve never had an auto-dimming mirror.
Mia there a part number for a regular one? Lol

take a flash light to the front of the sensor. the mirror will automatically darken.
I love mine, since trucks like to be lifted and have all kinds of front lights, all I have to do is hit the switch and the mirror will darken

I wouldn't say it's a common problem but these auto dimming mirrors do get stuck regardless if the button is pushed.

My rear view mirror is stuck with a bluish tint when it used to be clear as a mirror without auto dimming.

So, you are saying it could be stuck on dimming?
Anyway to get it unstuck?

I’m meeting someone near me on Saturday with a 2008 tl they are parting out.
Would the mirror from the 08 work on my 04?

Also would the fog lights in the number of the 08 work on mine? Should I start a different thread for that?

According to an online site, the mirror from an 08 should work.

yes, just pop off mirrors along with electrical connection; then re-install the same way

There's no way I know of to get it unstuck.

Many Acuras share the same rear view mirror - they should all work as long as it looks the same.
I too am experiencing the same problem - back in 2010 and 2011 it's VERY noticeable when you hit the button on and off. You'd be blind to miss it working.
it hasn't bothered me that much, but I'm mainly a chicken to change out the mirror and not crack the windshield.

You could just browse eBay for Acura TL rear view mirrors and notice that a few of the listings have the stuck blue tint.

It should look like this though:

I just reread your original post, if your rear view mirror is a slightly darker grey/green that sounds normal.

I replaced the mirror. The one on the right is my defective one.

Wow, that's a huge difference!

Was it easy to replace?

Yes, it was. I followed the directions posted for removing the hfl, unplugged it. Then I took off the bottom cap.
I used a flat screwdriver on the top edge of the mirror and a rubber mallet to gently tap down parallel with the windshield. Carefull because the mirror will suddenly fall off.

To install it, use the screwdriver and hammer from the bottom to get it all the way on.
