Positive Battery Cable

Hey guys, I searched for a positive battery cable install thread, but not seeing too much... I guess it may not be that frequent of a cvhange, or is a basic install but just wondered if any of you might have a sheet detailing what actually gets disconnected and how difficult the install is. The reason being, my terminal clamp for some reason has been destroyed by the prior owner and is not clamping down tightly on the positive terminal, so i purchased a new one for $20.. Anyway, any help or diagrams would be really helpful.

Thanks a lot!

Never replaced one on the TL, but you can purchase just the cable end. Cut the factory end off, strip back the covering and install the new end.

sometimes you can replace the end, but if the cable length is already tight- thats not going to work. Often someone adds amp or lighting and ties into the battery cable end-cutting it-then removing to sell the car.
Check the battery size is correct for the TL
To DIY:
Disconnect the NEG cable at the battery FIRST- then no power to zap you!!
Follow the pos lead thru its clamps to the starter motor- disconnect its nut and run new cable
Check all the clamps are secure on the cable run so it doesnt flop around, a lot of juice hits it at once and will move the cable around!!
Clean the battery post and the neg terminal
install POS lead to battery then NEG- reset radio and nav codes and enjoy
Car will run better now with solid battery flow thru the cables

Very true, but the OE positive cable looks to be a bear to replace as it T's when leaving the positive post. I travels forward to the fuse/relay box, and rearward to the starter.

Just picked one up from acura today and was coming here to double check the install procedure. Doesnt look too hard, but doesnt seem like too hard of a fix...mine was corroded to hell and back and where it "T's" was totally loose and barely connected so im going to replace the whole thing and not just cut the factore end off. Thanks for the help guys, even though this wasnt my thread
