Is the plastic on the reverse lights removable on '04 Acura TL?
Hello,
I have a question about the plastic on the reverse lights where the rear license plate sits... is this part of the car removable? I'm going to dip this part of the car black just like how the silver trim is now. I would like to leave the actual lights how they are and dip around them. I tried to dip this part when I did the silver trim but the dip around the lights didn't come out as I wanted so I took it off. Just wanted to see if there was a way to take off the plastic cover then pop it back on.

That's what I figured it was one whole piece and gonna dip it with black plasti dip with a clear coat they have too so I can peal it when I'm over it haha but I wanted to dip under the plastic to get the dip right around the lights. I might just leave it since I do also like the carbon fiber look.

i can confirmed its removable, i've removed it and put dynamat behind it.
easy to remove, remove black plastic clips for trunk door cover behind it then there are about 4-6 #10 screws that hold that plastic piece together, will also need to unplug license plate light plugs as well

I've removed it from the trunk to dip it as well. But once I took it off there is no way to take the piece apart its just one big piece of plastic. I also didn't want to completely black out the reverse lights because you know, its kinda nice to see whats behind you when you're backing up at night. So I carefully taped over the lights on the outward facing plastic then sprayed it a few times then removed the tape and sprayed it a few more times. Turned out really nice IMO you can't tell that there are different amounts of coats on the different parts. The reverse lights still have good light output as well, which was the goal!
Originally I hated the fake carbon fiber look and couldn't wait to black it out. But the longer its on and the more tl pictures I look at I kinda miss the carbon fiber look. Its starting to grow on me lol
dont dip it!!!
every one loves the faux carbon fiber look!
ppl stop me and are like is that factory!?
black will take out the contrast of it!
