PIAA wipers. Best. Wipers. Ever.
Just wanted to share with you gents. I had these wipers on my old TL and I am about to put on my new TL-S. These wipers last for years and make it so you rarely have to use your wipers when its raining. Rain just beads off your windshield. I had them for over 3 years on my old TL with virtually no wear on them.
You need the 26" and the 19" for the TL. Super silicone.
Enjoy

hmmm...will have to look at these. i'm in the market for new wiper blades, since my rain x latitude blades SUCK! performance wise they work great. the bad...they break! i had them on the car for maybe 8-9 months, and then during the storms last week, my passenger side blade snapped off the mounting bracket. WTF?! the blade took a ride on the windshield then flew off on the hwy. ugh! then the plastic bracket began to etch its way into my windshield even with minimal trying to see through the raindrops usage. not happy. luckily i had an old set of silblades i was able to put on to get me through the rest of the day after i go tthe car home.
the reviews on amazon for the piaa super silicone blades have very good reviews. anyone else have experience with the piaa blades?? and since they aren't a beam type blade, the likelihood of it breaking is non-existent.

Hmmm. Interesting.
I had heard, "Bosch Icons. Best. Wipers. Ever."

I have the Bosch Icons and they are streaky as hell. This might be a good purchase for me considering how much driving I do...I've always heard good things about PIAA wipers.
Where did you pick them up from? Any good online retailers out there?

I have the PIAA wiper blades as well.

These things were pretty nice during the winter, when you get that dirt mist type stuff from drivers in front of you, these things wipe the windshield clean instead of smearing. Haven't had them during the summer yet but my guess these things will perform flawlessly.

Amazon. They are about 40 bucks total. Yes expensive for wipers but they last forever. And when u do need to replace, you can just buy the insert for about 7-9 bucks a piece. Buy them, then forget about needing wipers ever again. You will never change to another wiper.

SilverJ, you sound like a spokesperson for PIAA!
but seriously, thanks for the review. i was considering purchasing these in the next few months.
did you get the CF ones or just the regular black ones?

My sister's car has Bosch Icons...would not buy again. Started streaking just after a month of being on the car.
I got some silblades for my mom's odyssey. I think the only reason why we tossed them after a few years is the metal part started to flake and rust.

Acurazine has given me a ton of good advice over the years so I am just looking to give back when I can. BTW--before the PIAA's I had the bosch Icons. No comparison IMO.
At first I thought it was ridiculous to pay 40 bucks for wipers but three years later(and they were still going strong when I sold my old tl) I can see why they cost that much. Anyone know how to change our signatures ? Need to update my car info.

I think the silblades I got were off ebay..wasnt too sure if they would acknowledge the receipt from a ebay seller. Either way, we had them for years without issues. Would buy again.

PIAA's that good ?
Very good info. Considering a pair of the PIAA Hybrid wipers for my TL. I prefer wipers that blend in smoothly with the hood and windshield.
My 08 TSX had an excellent pair from the factory, but TL's are made in USA.

I recently installed a pair of the new SI Tech wipers and they seem to work well, no ice build up as they are designed like a winter blade. I've also had the Icons in the past and they were great as well but didn't seem to last that long. How often are you guys changing out your wipers?

for those with the "beam" type wiper blades piaa or otherwise...have any issues. i keep hearing the bosch blades getting streaky, and then there is the fitment issue with regard to conforming to the windshield. we already know my issue...breakage (yes it was installed correctly) they also chattered.
i had also considered the "hybrid" blades...other companies have a "hybrid type" blade...early reviews...not that great due to fitment. might be different for the TL though. anybody else have the piaa hybrid blades?

its all about $$$. make half ass product, sell at premium as the latest and greatest, then it breaks/breaksdown. meanwhile, the said company is laughing all the way to the bank with our money.

I went back through my records---I originally purchased my PIAAs through AJUSA in April 2009. I am looking to replace the inserts now, although it is more of a preference thing---the blades still clear the windshield very effectively, but not as good as new, especially under light rain/mist conditions.

Have Bosch Icons on initially but they streaked from day one and got worse after a month or so. I would not buy them again. Switched to Trico Neoform Beam Blades and they did not streak and did a little bit better job of cleaning the windshield then the Bosch Icon's but after about 6-7 months they started to streak. Will most likely try PIAA next time around since everyone swears by them.

Hey thank you for the shout out!
Unfortunately we are very low on PIAA stock right now, and will not be getting too much more anytime soon with whats been going on in Japan.
I do have a couple of items in stock, but it would only benefit local customers as the shipping on a single blade is more then the blade itself. I will let you all know when we have more in stock. Thanks

This is a great thread; perfect timing too. I just purchased and installed PIAA Silicone wipers last week on my TL.
After having Bosch wipers on, which I thought were "higher end" and "great" from reviews I heard, PIAA is a different world! The Bosch lasted me maybe 8-10 months, within the last three months the entire passenger blade barely did anything to clear the window. Streaking was horrible and I felt like I was better off NOT even using them in the rain.
It's only been about a week or so with the PIAA's and it's only rained once and had a damp morning a couple times also. As someone else posted, the water really does bead right off without the need to run the wiper. I'll update this post in a few months to see how they do through NY's rainy spring!
