Pcm ecm ecu manual transmission

Hello, guys I am in dire need of finding a ecu for a 07 Tl Type s Manual Transmission. I’ve had a oxygen sensor problem and now my mechanic is looking to change to ecu. He first wants to check the wires all the way up to the ecu but anyway I’ve started looking for a ecu with no luck. I’ve tried local pick your parts but a manual type s is either scavenged to death or is hard to come by. I am in the Dc Maryland Virginia area but I am willing to pay thru PayPal and have the item shipped as well. If you know of a site that is currently selling a used ecu I will compensate !!!

Try car-part.com, use 'engine computer' or 'computer box engine'.

Looks like there is one in Delaware and Ontario Canada, better move fast.
Also, a quick look on ebay shows a few; however, not sure they are for 6-speed.

Regarding the O2 sensors, hopefully your mechanic has tried a Denso or Honda O2 sensor and has not used a Bosch sensor; the Bosch sensors are proven time and time again to cause problems with Honda engines.

ive used NTK 02 sensors and that didn’t work then I’ve replaced the electric load unit and nothing then I bought a Honda sensor and nothing. So my mechanic wants to check all the wires to the ecu and replace it then it nothing is short circuited

What concerns me about this approach is it kind of sounds like throwing parts at the problem instead of doing a full diagnosis.

What exactly is your issue with the O2 sensor being reported? Which O2 sensor? What codes? What behavior?

So he tested my ECM and he didn’t find a issue besides the o2 sensor code P0171 I think and the ELD unit. I asked him how sure was he because I’m not growing money on a tree. He said he was confident this was the solution so we proceeded with changing the parts. When he came back and told me the check engine light is still on. We didn’t argue but I reminded him that I didn’t want to keep wasting time and money. He is now going to cover the rest of the cost to fix the problem so the ECM which I just found in Delaware (a manual transmission ecm is so rare) the reprogramming and what ever it takes

the CEL Code p0171 was cutting on i don’t remember if it was that code exactly but the bank 2 censor 2 engine light came on after replacing with NTK and OEM the light stayed. The only behaviors I’m getting is gas mileage difference I would get 21 mpg but the display indicates 18 mpg other than that I don’t think there is anything else

Depending on what the actual code is can determine if it was O2 or possibly something else. P0171 isn't directly an O2 code...it could be O2 sensor...but it could be other things as well. You said you were replacing Bank2 Sensor2? That sensor doesn't do a heck of a lot...it's primary role is to check catalyst efficiency. Sensor1 does the heavy lifting when it comes to air/fuel control.

Except Honda doesn't make sensors. So assuming you used Denso or NTK for all O2 sensors?

The biggest issue here is it still isn't clear exactly what code you have been chasing and what has already been done to test. Why are you chasing the ELD? If there are electrical issues, I would for sure be chasing that before anything else.

I suspect you are deliberately missing the point, Honda buys literally millions of parts from other manufacturers and puts them in OEM wrappers. Said another way, while there is a Honda name and part number on the bag, there is NOT a Honda manufactured part inside said bag.

And we are just ragging on you about that....the fact you went to get the real deal Honda labeled part....it should not be a compatibility issue since it should already be a NTK or Denso unit. Nothing wrong with what you did to get the right part...other than the possibility of paying more.
