Paint job cost variance cost by region & A-spec!!

So...

My A-spec box arrived and it is BEHEMOTH. I was expecting maybe 6ft long and 12" x 12". I really can't get in and out of my apartment anymore, may have to turn the bed on the side and sleep on the floor Excited nonetheless!

Anyway! Does the price on paint jobs vary a lot around the country? I have to decide to get the work I need done in Youngstown, Ohio now or in Austin, TX in a month from now.

1. Hood needs stripped and repainted. Bare metal is exposed and will soon be rusty in many places.
2. Fenders need to be matched.
3. Some Mofo at these welfare apartments just added a giant scratch to my driver side rear door. Means 2 doors need repainted (paint matching)
4. A-spec install
5. Replacement bumper cover. The redneck inbred trash who had this car before me had a minor accident and got one of the cheapest skankiest most sickening touch-up jobs on the front end, it looks like crap and gets worse as time passes. Obviously the person was affording the car payment by the skin of their teeth that they did such a crap job and then went on to drive it in that condition 4 more years.

Went to 2 places in town and their estimates are within $50 of each other. However one offered me a "special negotiation" to knock off an extra couple hundred.

$2100~2200

Will be without a car 2 weeks.

Trying to decide what to do!!!

It varies from shop to shop.

It would help if you can post some pictures.

Oh and #3 depending on the scratch, you can probably remove it yourself without having them paint it.

here in socal we have the BEST hookups in the country...there are places that will do a whole car paint job for 2 grand. and some of those shops are pretty legit too not mickey mouse work, as in they will include door jambs. I know people who can paint your car for just a bit over 1g if you dont need absolute perfection
And if you are willing to get insurance involved....dont even get me started on what kind of hookups you can get... a lot of times ppl even get cash leftover ...lol

it's because here in socal everyone mods their cars so there are so many body shops, car shops, auto parts stores, etc all over and the increased competition forces them to lower prices. Not to mention there are plenty of ppl who work at body shops but are willing to work on a car privately for extra cash.
