Osram 66240 CBI 5000k Bulbs

Hey

I have been looking for the Osram CBIs, and can't seem to find them for sale anywhere....

TheRetroFitSource has the "baby brother" versions to the CBIs (in the link below), but I was hoping to get the real deal...

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=257

Does anyone know where I can get the Osram 66240 CBI Bulbs?

Thanks in advance...

Cheers

CBI (Cool Blue Intense)
As of now you have to get these imported from Germany I believed These are not available from the US. You can contact Matt at The Retrofit Source and see if he can get them for you or even ask him if he could possibly do a GB for the acurazine forum. I'm sure he'd have to get in touch with a moderator since Matt would have to be a vendor in order to do a GB.
These things aren't cheap though, I paid $200 shipped for the pair.

Look through this thread.
Osram xenarc CBI
They have comparison pics and a lot of info in there.
These bulbs IMO are brighter than the philips 85122+ and aren't yellow at all like the 22+

Hmm.. subscribing to this thread, I wanna see how this plays out. I've always used Philips 85122+ but if these have a better output maybe I'll switch

Like I said. Ask Matt if he'd like to contact a mod and become a vendor, not sure how many people we could get though to spend $180-$200 a pair.

They are brighter, yes. Stock is I believe 3100 lumens while the CBI osram 5000Ks are 3400 lumens. More light, and a tad bit of more white/blueness. I'm sold!

I'll email Matt and see if he'd be interested in a GB after talking to the Moderator. Exactly which mod would he have to contact in order to become a vendor?

Looks like there is quite a long wating list for these with very little supply from OEM vendors.

He also sent me this.
Matt @ TRS:
If some people are interested at $200/set, I can probably get them. The only available ones we can get are just super expensive to source up front.

You can tell him to click on the "Advertising Information" at the bottom of the page. Astro does not do the vendor stuff anymore.

It's $95, as cheap as it could probably go. Just buy it.

I think the OP wants the CBI, not the $95 "baby brother" version.

Interested in GB as well.

I've got a pair from the first group buy Matt did and love them. It's kind of a pain to install them you have to remove your bumper and headlight housing to get to the HID bulbs safely.

Matt said he has a pretty big waiting list for the discounted price of the CBI's. You can get them faster I believe if you pay the full price $200. Ive mentioned this to him already about a month back.

^I think I'll just email Matt and see when the next GB will be. I really don't want to pay full price if they offer GBs periodically. Thanks.

I called Matt @ thehidretrofit today and unfortunately, he does not have any groupbuy plans or has any for sale from the manufacturer.

He suggested to check the forum or their facebook page for any updates on availability.

People have found them on eBay but you Dedinitely have to be careful of fakes. There are a few out there. Most likely will have to be imported from Germany. People have gotten then for around $220-$250 a pair.

I'm gonna bump this since I'm in the market for something to replace my 85122+ bulbs. Other than the kelvin rating (5000 vs 4300), are there any differences between the "baby brother" and the CBI version?

I do not think the "baby brother" version will match the switchbacks, because of the Kelvin rating....thats why everyone want the 5000k (don't quote me on that)
