Hey guys. I picked up a 2007 TL Type S NBP 6 speed with 79k miles as a daily driver about a month ago and so far it’s been great. I spent about 3 months looking for a Type S MT and finally one popped up for sale at $15k and most importantly, it was very clean and well maintained. Mods include window tints, drilled & slotted rotors and an aem cool air intake. I’m not sure what else I’m going to touch on the car as I’m really happy where it sits in stock form. …But there’s always that temptation.
So far I’ve noticed a couple things that have been a bit annoying. In the month I’ve owned it, I’ve received a number of diagnostic codes (P0300-5, P0171, P2138 & Vehicle Stability Assist 83; pic below). However, they've all been short lived with the engine check light staying on for less than a day and then seemingly ‘fix’ themselves. The other odd part is how I haven't noticed any downfall in performance during these warnings. The second issue is the garage door opener. It doesn’t seem to work after the first few uses and constantly has to be reprogrammed. I’ve read this is a ‘rolling code’ issue, but I’m probably not going to deal with it as I will only be in my current apt for a few more months.
Overall this car has certainly lived up to expectations with the exception of the rather temperamental inexplicable engine check lights.

Do the codes come back after you reset them? If you aren't sure how to do it enter the diagnostic menu by holding menu/guide and cancel button down simultaneously. Once in there search around you'll find a menu to check codes and also clear them.

It's standard. Whenever I got a message it'd pop up on the navi screen too. Saves you from having to get an obd2 reader
3 months... $15k.. is this real life?
