New angel eyes finally installed Pics, and comments?

I just picked up my car yesterday from my local mechanic, he installed 2 Halo rings on each headlight, blacked out the housing, and took out the amber part. I'll get a close up photo tomorrow. Overall I think this mod came out nice, comments?

Nice, but I'd like something more than a B&W pic though.

It's unique, but not my cup of tea. Not fitting of the car IMHO; but if you like it, that's all that matters.

To me, no car looks better with those 'halo' rings than the e39 5 series bmw

^^ hell yeah!! i just think that halos look good only on BMW's, and LED drl's on Audi's. now everybody wants halos/led drl's on there cars and even some manufacturer's put them on newer cars.

Well I agree the halo rings look good on BMWs, but in my area there are so many TL's I just wanted for my to stand out in the crowd, and it still is a head turner

Nothing wrong with your angel eyes. And nothing wrong with standing out either. Anxious to see some more pics.

KFW, you could even use your camera phone. Just some different angles and some color shots.

The BMW's do look nice with them, but Buda had halo's in his TL and they looked good! The TL can pull these off too-and just as well as any damn BMW.

True, depends on the shot and color.
My friends think it looks really unique, and black housing with my clear/black tail lights flows really well.

this is a general rant and not directed solely towards the OP.

is it cool to post teasers now a days?
When creating content for readers; why not try to incorporate all the information and details into the original post?
it sure would make it A LOT easier on the readers.
for example: "hey guise, I just installed halos!!!!"

[ img] B&W photo [/ img]

"cool story breaux, butt, we cant see shit!"

In other words, Im in for better pictures......

How's the output of the blacked out turn signal reflector?

Personally not a fan of the individual LEDs formed into a circle, but as long as you like it that's all that matters.

Its dim but still visible but Actually I bought a chrome dipped bulb instead but I'm gonna replace with led switchbacks in a couple of weeks.

CCFL rings would have looked way better. As long as you're happy that's all that matters.

Not a fan of the individual LEDs like others have mentioned. But it's your car, so enjoy being different if that's what the objective was.

Everything I have read of CCFL is they look great... for two months... then you screwed.. you hear horror stories of folks replacing like 3 times, open and closing the housing each time

So what size diameter are the rings?

and when you get a cahnce take pics when darker and a little further out

oh, and the lights look great, everything looks clean and flows good!

How are the LEDs even connected? They don't even come in contact with the shrouds or anything. Not a fan, sorry.

CCFL's would have been your best bet as long as the inverters were installed out side the headlights for when they need to be replaced

^i just wanted to see if he knows what brand he has and how they were installed/wired.

i might be pulling my headlights apart this weekend to try and track down the issue, and most likely solder the connection on the halo rings themselves. idk what else to do.

Sharks, you got LED or CCFL? I thought I saw you posted on some page of when someone else had the issue and did soldering....

I was going to try and get my headlights done before the meet but dont think I have time, also keep going back and forth... to halo or not to halo.. oh woe is me

and KungFu, any tech details? like brand as Shark asked and also size, # of LEDs etc?

see this is what happens when you put up pictures!

^i have the orion v2 LED ones...but they don't look like OP's. the LED's on mine aren't spaced apart like that, they maintain a full circle.

and yeah i just haven't gotten around to messing with them. but since there is nothing left to do to my car, might as well fix the boo-boo's.
