I hear RWD sucks in snow. I use the FWD to correct slides and I know SH-AWD will put you into a slide if your not careful so I can see RWD being a pita. And on slicks.....

What year is it? Late 90's... Sorry if I'm wrong, all I remember about the Vette was when they updated it around 2003 because I watched a bunch of car shows back then. I was maybe 7, or so...

Question regarding our headlights, and aiming the D2S bulbs......
Before I took my stock ones out, I noticed that the left headlight was noticeably higher, kindve of made a cut off similar to this __________--------------- (if this makes sense lol).

When I went to put my new headlights in, I tried aiming the bulbs to make them match, but ended up getting it backwards.
how did you aim your lights? is the cutoff even across both bulbs? or did you try and mimic the stock cutoff like I did?

You're supposed to have it look like this in the end "__________---------------" assuming you drive on the right side of the road, it's to not blind oncoming traffic. There's the right way of aiming them where you park 20 feet away on a flat surface and measure but I just adjusted the lights and went on drives around the neighborhood until I was able to see and not blind others lol

you got a fairly good eye!

its a 2000 "C5" coupe that I bought it in 2003 and have been driving daily for the past 16 years now. ~130k miles on original clutch too! the thing has been much more robust & reliable than the 2007 TLS I bought in 2010.

I've had to replace many more things on the TL to keep her going, unfortunately.

This was by far the most annoying TL garage job I've had to do; hopefully never again ಠ_ಠ

Yeah man as the burglar said, you're on the right track. After install, I noticed that my cutoff was just a bit low. I ended up raising the passenger side just a bit higher than the driver side. Here is how they currently look (love that sharp cutoff)

First off I want to thank everyone that has posted on this thread, because of you I pulled the trigger and ordered a set for myself not because I think they look awesome and I want to be unique ( I do really like the way the look) but because they are so much cheaper than the OEM lights and it was time for new headlight. I took special note of the problems that everyone was having with the DRL and would like to share my experience so far.

Hamburger490 started things off with his DRL not working and the light coming on in the dash. I installed the lights as the instructions were written in my 2008 TL base but found an error right away, the paper that come in the box with the lights stated for the LED socket use the black socket for 2007 and 2008 only. The grey socket is the only one that matched my harness so I used it, the paper also stated that the extended adapter was to be used on 2007 and 2008 as well, which I did. Of course I had the same problem as everyone else DRL didn't come on and I got the light in the dash, so I looked at that extender adapter and those pins were not correct as well so I removed that.

So I did some research and found that my car uses a HB3 12V 60W bulb and the 2004-2006 use a HB4 12V 55W and the kit comes installed with HB4's. What I did was replace the HB4's with my original HB3's started the car and my DRL came right on and the light in the dash went out. Honestly I don't know if the HB4's would cause a problem or not and frankly this whole processes is kicking my ass so I'm not going to do any testing but I'm positive if your using the extender adapter on your 2008 that is why you DRL's are not working.

Moral of the story is the instructions are backwards, if it says use this connector for 2004-2006 that is the one to use for 2007-2008, well it worked for 2008 for sure.

Not great pictures but here you go. Oh BTW I installed the same LED Fog lights that Hamburglar linked from amazon.

DRL's on unmodified

Parking lights

Headlights on with Fog's

I like how they don't look stupid on an unmodified base TL! It's subtle, and definitely not out of place! Well worth it, IMO!

The headlights look amazing. Very modern aesthetics and eye catching for sure

I would like to see a long term update on this. I've seen many vehicles with custom aftermarket headlights but usually a LED/bulb is out and getting those fixed is

The price for these jumped to $424 on Amazon! Thanks to all of you guys... I wish I would've jumped on when they were still $324. But the way my bank account is setup...

Update on my set of headlights as well......

Now that snow has finally arrived, I've been avoiding taking the TL out of the garage but have had to resort to driving it a few times......

Headlights have held up great in the freezing temperatures and even with snow, salt and slush covering them.....absolutely no condensation or signs of wear (although it still is early)

I plan on getting the car protected with ceramic pro in the summer and will definitely do the headlights at that time....

On a side note: came across another TL owner on instragram who also purchased these headlights.....wish they would chime in on here as they clearly visit the site///

Really? When are they expected to restock?

Look up the manufacturer and order that way, if they don't restock in a reasonable amount of time...

If I ever get another 3G, I will be doing this mod.

Researching Akkon just links to a Facebook page and then to their Amazon storefront. As far as I can tell, everyone else is just a reseller.

Update on my headlights since I think mine are the oldest, they're still great, but one thing I've noticed is the driver side headlight light seems to like shake or jiggle over bumps. Can only notice it by watching my light "line" on the back of cars in front of me. Not sure if the bulb came loose or what. Will have to take a look in there sometime. Currently it's a very slight shake so it doesn't bother me too much, but figured I'd mention it. Anybody have any ideas?

I believe I've noticed this as well, it's also a slight shake for me, but it is noticeable when a vehicle is directly in front. Doesn't bother me at all to be honest.
My car is lowered on Tein and our roads are total crap, so I'm thinking with the drop, shitty roads and new headlights, maybe slight movement should be expected?
Albeit, with the stock headlights I don't think I had any such issues.....o well lol

if the whole line shakes, it's not the bulb, it's the projector itself coming loose from the assembly.

Hmm well that doesn't sound ideal. But it's a very minor shake for now, so not too concerned. Will have to take a look at it when it warms up

Damn... I ALMOST pulled the trigger on some fb marketplace headlights today but just saw this thread
Not a TL owner, have a 2G TSX 2010 black and since everyone here seems to agree this company makes quality stuff I may go ahead and get a similar looking set up for my car

Just some questions; not sure what light set up everyones TL has in here but a few questions:

It says
Low Beam: D2S... which is the HID, cool straight forward
High Beam: H1

Now the OEM TSX light set up is D2S for low beam, 9005 for DRL/Hi-Beam

I swapped out the 9005 halogen for an LED which actually has great Hi-Beam function, just haven't put in the decoder (doesn't throw a code too often)

Judging by this picture

The LED accent is the DRL

Which leads me to believe that the housing up top next to the HID is the H1 housing for the Hi-Beam... which will ONLY be a high beam halogen? So my 9005 LED DRL is basically pointless? I would need to get an H1 LED and it will only turn on when I turn on the Highs?

Not sure if the 04-08 TL's have the DRL/Hi-Beam dual function the 2010 TSX has... but just thought I'd jump in and see if anyone has any knowledge

You'll have to figure that out yourself LordCaldwell. The only reason I say that is because we experienced a similar issue with our headlights for the TL's. The plugs for the DRL bulbs had two in total, one for 04-06 models and the other for 07-08 models, but the cords were labelled wrong on the installation guide.

So you will have to see when you get these headlights how it is set up.
Good luck with your install! and I cant wait to see them, make sure to update us here when you get them on the car.

....also to everyone reading about the projector shakiness, I have been monitoring my headlights very closely and realized that my line also isn't shaking. But what I am experiencing is the cut-off lines fluctuating when I hit a dip or go uphill or downhill etc. My car is lowered so when driving day to day, the lines level fluctuate as my car drives and experiences different grades in the road. I verified this because when I'm on a completely level road or a road that is on a consistent level, there is no shakiness and cutoff stays the same!

Just my 2 cents on the shakiness, I too see some movement on bumps in the road but they stop as soon as the car stops moving. Honestly I agree with MyGuti, I experience the same behavior that he is talking about and my car is not lowered, truthfully I haven't adjusted the lights and I believe at the very least the driver side light is low, probably both are low but I see fine so I'm not really in a big hurry to adjust them up. Also I have nothing to compare it to because with my original headlights I couldn't see the cutoff line and with the new headlights that cutoff line is very pronounced. I noticed it the first week with the new lights installed but after that I haven't given it a second thought and only really notice it on big dips in the road.

I would still buy them again!

With the blinkers being LED, do they draw enough current to avoid hyper-flash?
