From the way he worded it, I don't think his DRL worked before either...

If you want, go get a DRL module connect to ground and battery, then create a setup for your car, either hughbeams or LED strips, and slpice it in.

I tried to use relays and resistors to make a DRL system, believe me, a good DRL moduel is a lifesaver. You can get them on eBay.

When I first saw them, I was skeptical as well. But after seeing them on the car, I'm definitely sold on them.
IMO, they look better and probably function better than any custom made headlights I've seen for the 3G thus far.
I'd put these ahead of the halo mod, and basically anything else.
The fact that they come ready made and you don't need to open them up to mod them, and risk sealing problems and other issues, is the icing on the cake for me.
Once I get them installed, I will wait a few months before deciding to sell my stock set.

So, is this just a basic install? Already having ballast and bulbs then?

Yep it's all plug and play, and you just reuse the stock HID ballasts/bulbs

At the end of the day, everyone will have their own styles and tastes. It's all a matter of personal preference.

I'm just happy to see that new/innovative parts are still being made for our TLs, even in 2018. Things like this keep the community alive.

Same here, that's what surprised me the most, that someone is still making new parts for a 10 year old car. Awesome

Just an FYI the lights are made by "Akkon"

They don't appear to have a website but have a Facebook/Instagram page with more items

^^Thats exactly my thinking as well. And, if I'm not mistaken, I believe this is the first set of headlights that come complete since the cars' were manufactured? (outside of depo lights of course)

I ordered some clear depo light from eBay they lasted 6 month ,condensation inside the headlight .
For the price i might get these light ,so DRL don't work with the 08 headlights?

I don't think my DRL issue is due to the headlights. I plugged my DRLs in even without these headlights installed and the DRLs still wouldn't come on. They worked fine before I installed these though, so hard to say what happened

I can see aiming these things is going to be a hassle as a screwdriver doesn't reach them from the stock hole at the entry point

If I get another 3G this will be one of my first mods!

Keeping the 3G's looking fresh!

Take a picture after from a distance!

Still installing but of course will have more pics. I just drove around the block and they're a little low so will need to raise up after a break for dinner.

They look modern and fresh and the cutoff is sharp as hell. So far loving them

It appears the side markers become white, are the turn signals amber LEDs? Just curious.

OP your not running any DRLs in these shots correct? Just the LED accents are on?

Looks amazing

No DRLs in those night shots, my DRLs are amber LED shown above.

Also, I was wrong about the new light's accent LEDs being on all the time. The accent LEDs are not on unless you have the parking lights or headlights on.

If you want to use the LEDs as DRL, I suggest wiring it to the DRL ststem. Or you could get a DRL module (hooks to battery and ground/uses alternator voltage jump in battery to activate) and find the LED power wire on the pinout, I suppose.

IDK, I was hoping it could work this way... Only thing, the LEDs will not be bright enough to use as DRL, really.

Tried it before and the LEDs need to be extremely bright to be seen in direct sunlight like OEM DRL is.

The accent LEDs are quite bright. I'll take a pic in the sun with the parking lights on as the accent LEDs light up along with the DRLs

You can run in this manner without rewiring anything to run it the way you're talking about

Looks great guys! Brings a cool modern look to the car.
Definitely something i'd invest in to replace the OEM model.

I'm not sure what magic you pulled to aim them. I had to take the bumper off and take the headlights off the car to aim them. But looks great man! Definitely jealous of your working DRLs haha

Use a Phillips in the slot and you will see the adjuster. I couldn't see it at first but used my phone's flashlight and you can see the "gears" you turn to raise/lower.

I bought an LED wiring kit specific to our cars a long time ago which allows for full power to go to the LEDs vs the 70% brightness of factory. Maybe get you one of those wiring harnesses? I'll look for one and get you a link
