Need to replace my rear bumper, will a new bumper stand out?

I got rear ended, and my bumper is pretty beat up. Looking online, I can buy a replacement new for $400 or used for ~$300. My worry is that if I buy it new, the contrast with the relatively faded paint of the rest of the car will stand out. What are your thoughts?

Do a search of local yards, you might score big and find a used bumper in your color.More common than you think.

Don't buy it prepainted. Buy the bumper itself and have a shop custom mix paint to match the fenders.

I work at a body shop. Don't buy a used one from junkyard because they normally come with some deep scuffs if your lucky some minor. If you buy a new one just find a great body shop that will color match it very well. It might look very very very little off but nothing that will be obvious. I would go with a new one.

The OP doesn't mention his color. My WDP looked off when it was new. I have good confidence that a body shop would match the color better than my car bumper and may other WDPs I see.

pre-painted bumpers are not going to be an easy option unless you can find a factory painted one that is coming off another car from a junkyard/salavage place such as car-part.com. The paint is usually of sub-par quality, the paint match isn't very good and you can't change it without spending even more $$$.

Go to any good bodyshop and they will take care of painting the bumper cover and matching it to your car. For a rear end collision you are going to be spending $500 if you go to a shop for the bumper.

IMO, car-part.com is your best option, find the same color and check the condition grade!

certain colors will stand out more than others. Side panels are usually more obvious than front or rear bumpers since there really isn't much to compare it to ( unless its REALLY off)
