So last year, around this time, I came across a WDP type-s which I was really intrigued by. Long story short, the car was beaten to shit by some young rascal.....so that was the end of that.
Well, seems like history is repeating itself, recently was informed that a friend of a friend is selling his type-s 6mt in NBP.
I figured I would post some of the information I have about the vehicle here to help me determine what price point is fair.....
Basic Details:
2007 Type-s 6mt in NBP
155,000 kilometeres (~96,300 miles)
One owner, non-smoker
Car is completely stock, not even tint applied
All maintenance has been done through one Acura dealer (where the car was purchased), and just a few days ago has gotten the 105k service completed.
I was lucky enough to get his service history summary from him, I was wondering what you guys thinking of the service completed thus far? Please note, the 105k service history is not included in the below attachment.
I will be going to see the vehicle tom, and going for a test drive. Obviously, a lot of my decision and price point comes down to how the vehicle drives and "feels". I do have a pretty thorough check list to go through before making my decision, but just wanted some opinions from the community as to any specific things to look for on a 6mt (since I'm coming from a base).

To put this in perspective, this last May I bought a very clean 2006 TL 6MT with 114,000 miles on the clock (it had already had the 105,000 mile service performed) for $10,000 USD; for a clean Type-S 6MT with fewer miles but without the 105,000 mile service performed, I'm thinking at least $11,000 USD, and I'd probably pay another thousand on top of that if the car was REALLY clean.

78k miles, one owner, full service history from only one dealership. Flawless interior and exterior. OEM wheels in perfect condition. largely unmodified (just window tint and intake), all maintenance up to date and done preemptively in many cases, no outstanding issues, adult owner, etc.
The only reason I didn't ultimately go with it, is I really didn't want to have to drive back alone for 3 days, 12 hours a day. It's a looooong drive, across Canada.
I have no problem paying that kind of money. It's what I want. It's what I've wanted for years. It's something that I would have no issues driving for years on end, and as long as I take care of it, it will always be highly desirable and I'll always get a good return on it. Looks like the ones in good shape are starting to go up in value. Even if not, it's not a value thing I'm chasing. I want a perfect car and I'm willing to pay a premium for it. Looks like I'll be waiting for a local one to pop up in the spring.

& to OP, jump on it. A car that clean with service records like that is a rarity to come by. My TL-S was a similar find (minus the 160k service as this was couple of years ago at 120k/7Yr mark) with meticulous service records from the dealership the owner bought it from exactly like the one you're looking at. Owner was asking $18k and I took it home for $17k because he liked the fact it was going to a good owner and because the oil-pump seal was leaking & the drivers side foglight was cracked. I made my mind up with a day and had the car 2 days after. If the car checks out, the price is very reasonable.

Yeah, in Mississauga. I was considering buying it sight unseen, having it thrown on a truck and delivered to me. But that seemed like a really dumb idea, at that price
I've just been looking in my area, I may have to just have a 6MT shipped to me. I just have to see how things work because of our emissions here in Cali.

As long as the car is stock, you will have no issues licensing it in California, regardless of where it was originally sold.
Thanks everyone for the input. I was already pretty sold on purchasing the car, but after your guys' msgs it just solidified it. Im going in a couple hours to go check it out and bring her home. If the car is as clean as the pics show, its definitely a no brainer.
Best thing is I get to keep my base as well, which has been pampered as well.
We all know 6mts are rare, especially in certain colors. But what makes this a gem is the fact its bone stock and all maintainence has been done through the dealer. Honestly I would take that over an aspec kit, or color choice any day. Ive put alot of time and dollars into my base to make sure it runs smooth, just last night a buddy I was driving home couldnt believe how smooth the ride was for the km and year of the vehicle. I plan on doing the same with this 6nt

If I was in the market for TL-S MT I would pay around $14-$15k for one with similar condition to yours, however I forget you had in Canadian $ so great deal for you.

Here's a little back story on the sale for those interested..... the owner was an older gentleman who made a very good living in a higher-end part of town (hence all the servicing at Acura). During the test drive, we spoke at length at how the TL's from our years are still one of the best looking cars on the roads today. Mind you, this guy was born in 1959, and he said that as soon as he lied eyes on the type-s he knew it was the vehicle for him, especially being in a 6mt. We spoke at length at the reliability and just overall joy these cars bring, and once the sale was final I had forgotten to close the sunroof at one point. I inserted the key into the keyhole and used that procedure to bring the sunroof to a close.....that completely blew his mind LOL. I told him there was so many little things about this car that I love, especially the not so common knowledge ones.
Some ass had also parked like a total idiot next to us while we were in the bank, we came out and he saw how close the other vehicle was to his passenger side door and just went off on how he can't stand idiots like that. It made him angry, but brought a smile to my face. He was definitely someone who cared for this vehicle, he said he was literally the only driver, with the exception of his wife getting behind the wheel a total of 6 times!
There are many bonuses in this deal, and I thank everyone here for chiming in on this post. Going to take modding this beast slowly, like I did with the base (well maybe not that slow). He also had put in a brand new HFL unit.....so there's that as well
It's always good to meet up with people who are enthusiasts and genuinely care about their vehicles. Same happened with the previous owner of my TL-S and even some guy I bought OEM Brembo brakes from on Kijiji. It definitely helps when negotiating price on too haha

Thank you GM synchromesh is definitely on the list of things to do, but I must say, the shifts are very smooth right now. I am going to be speaking with a service rep at the dealer the car was serviced at and will find out more details regarding the service history of the vehicle. I really want a good idea of what's been done, invoices and service history summaries can only tell you so much....
I noticed on the most recent timing belt service that was completed, there is no mention of pulleys being replaced, or the serpentine belt. I'm pretty anal about this stuff especially since I left nothing out when getting my base serviced.
Also no mention about clutch being replaced or the flywheel. For your 6mts owners out there, do you think it's a good idea to get the clutch done now? I've read before that the clutches on these vehicles feel the same as new until they eventually go out (true?).
the 6MT does have a pressure switch but it's located in the driver footwell area to the left of the brake pedal. Be sure to apply it regularly when changing gears too to save your synchros.
I miss my 3G...getting harder to find clean ones and type S, to boot. If I were to go down that road again, it would have to be a 6MT before anything else.
