Third brake light functions but one is burnt
Third brake light functions but one is burnt, would i have to replace the whole third brake light or how would I deal with this?

The third brake light is an LED bar. A new replacement assembly is $160+, but there are usually some junkyard pulls on eBay for less than $50.
If you want to DIY and have the means to solder components: The bar uses red 5mm Superflux LEDs that can be had for less than $0.25 each.

Here is the link to the item on ebay. 3rd Brake Light
I would take it off and test before you purchase the replacement. I had the same issue and turn out to be the brake pedal switch. Oreilly's Auto Brake Switch

I would say most of the time it's the brake pedal switch.
Changing the switch first is usually much cheaper than buying a new LED assembly, so it's generally the first thing to change.
However at this age you can probably find them both for a similar price so pick and choose which one to change first and cross your fingers.

Go back a few years in the forums and there were lots of threads with partially lit 3rd brake lights that were resolved with a new switch.....it doesn't make sense...but that is what people were doing. I have had mine replaced by the dealer under warranty back in 2008 for having an LED out, then 2-3 years ago I noticed all of my brake lights were extremely dim and a switch replacement resolved that.

brandon, that Jackass is absolutely correct !! Partial, dimming or completely out, replace the switch first. Only cost $10 - $20 and DIY in less than 10 minutes. I just replaced mine today, and 3rd light is working perfectly !!

Hi, kind of a noob here, just purchased a GS-100A brake light flash module for the third LED brake light and not really sure how to install it. Would like some help and thank you!

I merged all 4 of your brake light related threads into one master thread...
Also there's been multiple threads in the past regarding this issue: https://www.google.com/search?q=site...hrome&ie=UTF-8

UPDATE: Just replaced with a OEM brake light switch as well as changed the brake light switch mount, still didn't fix the issue. I know the LEDs aren't burnt as it lights up sometimes.

Step on the brakes with the car turned on and radio off. If you listen you can hear something click in the center console area each time it's depressed. Possibly a relay? I'm not sure but maybe that has something to do with the issues ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you have that flash module connected? If yes, remove it and test light behavior. If no, I would say your next step is to test/replace the actual lamp module itself. It may have a crack or bad solder joint on the board causing the flickering. There have been some electrical diagrams posted in the past month or two that show the entire 3rd brake light circuit.
That noise you hear in the center console is the shift lock solenoid which should have nothing to do with the brake lights. It is what prevents the car from leaving Park until you press the brake pedal.

Per the schematics on this thread, there are four LEDs per branch....you have a failed circuit within the assembly. With the intermittent nature, I bet you have a cracked solder joint within the assembly causing issues with one of the paths.
