Abe_Froman 01-27-2013 09:51 PM

Don't mean to come across as a internet douche, but that seriously hurt my head trying to read that. I rewrote it for you:

"So I was eating dinner and heard a loud noise from outside. I looked out the window to see if my TL was in its original spot, but it wasn't there. I went outside and noticed that both of my parked cars got hit. The TL got pushed back fifteen feet and my GXP got pushed five feet. A car had run a stop sign and t-boned a truck that ran into both of my cars.

The kid driving the truck got his license three days ago. I feel bad for the poor kid."

Try uploading them to a photo sharing site like imageshack, flickr, etc. After doing that use the insert image icon.

Sorry to hear about your car(s). Hopefully insurance takes care of you.

Legitka9 01-27-2013 09:53 PM

You just bought my headlights right? Damn that sucks!!!! Wtf!!!!

FlipTA2TL 01-27-2013 09:56 PM

Sorry to hear this, hopefully the insurance will cover this.

TL looks pretty messed up.

FlipTA2TL 01-27-2013 10:06 PM

The gray one I think its totaled. Sorry, but the purple might be repairable.

DFLH100 01-27-2013 10:09 PM

gray looks pretty bad... hopefully insurance covers all of this

purplehaze9414 01-27-2013 10:11 PM

callahan 01-27-2013 10:13 PM

That sucks :( sorry, TL looks totaled to me

EkSoni 01-27-2013 10:15 PM

Damn sorry to hear. Hope everyone involved is safe. That TL definitely looks totaled. The other one seems repairable.

purplehaze9414 01-27-2013 10:18 PM

i hope not... it sucks i owe like 14k on it i heard if your a no fault you can fight for your car not to get totalled hopefully its true

Legitka9 01-27-2013 10:27 PM

From the pics, they would total out the TL and fix the other one. God that sucks!!!!

My wife's car just got hit being parked in the street. I'll never park in the road ever again!

I wonder how much you could buy the TL back for???? Maybe you could keep it for a grand and part it make some profit out of the situation.

Is it a 5at or 6mt?

If it was parked then hit it should also be covered under comprehensive and your rates will not go up. Regardless, you probably won't lose from this situation.

purplehaze9414 01-27-2013 10:36 PM

its the 5 at but i cant see 15k in damages for them to total i was just looking up parts for car and they are really inexpensive. the one thing that does suck is cradle is messed up but theres a shop out here does top notch work so we will see within next few days. ironically i wanted my other car to get hit in front so i can get a few mod upgrades like ram air hood and ccfl headlights lol

FlipTA2TL 01-27-2013 10:38 PM

They usually total a car if the price to fix it is more than half of the value of the vehicle.

akplaya92 has a point, I had to re-read that several times to comprehend your sentences.

But back to the thread, wow that sucks. Im sure the kid driving the truck is shaken and will never be the same.

Legitka9 01-27-2013 10:49 PM

Imagine that kids insurance, they have to pay for at least 3 cars, maybe 4.

I bet they will drop him.

purplehaze9414 01-27-2013 10:56 PM

The kid was driving the truck that got t-boned...not his fault, his insurance won't go up.

Has nothing to do with comprehensive. Comp covers theft, vandalism, fire, flood or other acts of nature; not impact with another moving vehicle. Even if there's an issue with the insurance of the at-fault driver, OP's own collision would cover it, not his comp.

It's usually more in the 75% range, but there are insurance laws which vary by state that often come into play.

Sucks, OP, but hopefully you'll make out ok.

SharksBreath 01-28-2013 07:26 AM

sorry to see this OP. really blows dude...:whyme:

at least your c'mod grill wasn't installed.

are you planning on getting another TL?

EvilVirus 01-28-2013 09:09 AM

That sucks OP

Hope everything works out

JTS97Z28 01-28-2013 09:35 AM

More reasons I'm glad to live nowhere near the city. Shit like that happens all the time! My sister lives in Chicago and said she saw some car driving down the street side swiping every car on the street. She called the cops and they never even showed up. Fuck the city.
Sorry to see BOTH of your cars get mailed. Like others have said the TL is a goner, the GXP should be repairable.

James

potmilkz 01-28-2013 12:01 PM

everything is repairable.. if you have money.. but in this case, buying this car back will be a bad investment.. take the money and buy anther one, save yourself the headache man..

imj0257 01-28-2013 12:53 PM

Shit, that sucks. Sorry to hear.

Acura_Dude 01-28-2013 01:18 PM

GEEZ! Sorry to hear about your car. I say cut your losses and look for another TL (if they total this one out). Good luck with everything, man.

NetoAzul 01-28-2013 05:53 PM

Oh snapp!!

Legitka9 01-28-2013 06:09 PM

I'll never park in the street, this is my neighbors car.

EvilJoker 01-28-2013 07:08 PM

TL looks like possible frame damage

nvasion 01-28-2013 08:07 PM

neighbours car is goner.
grey looks to be close to total loss

JJH 01-28-2013 08:13 PM

Definitely totaled...

Hope you have GAP insurance...the other drivers insurance company may only agree to give you what the car is worth to them, not what you owe on it necessarily.

Or is this wrong? From my understanding, Gap insurance covers the difference in events like this.

EvilJoker 01-28-2013 08:59 PM

I believe GAP insurance only comes into play when dealing with your own insurance. If the other drivers insurance wont cover all of it, then you can file remainder on your insurance in which case most insurance companies will either fight for you or sue the other insurance company to cover their loss.

UA6 01-28-2013 09:43 PM

That TL is toast. Put some butter on it.

Lanaue 01-28-2013 09:56 PM

You may not want it back even if they fix it. Good Luck. Sorry to see you go through this.

PrimeTiime 01-29-2013 07:44 AM

man that sucks. i saw just the other day (Friday I think?) I was coming home from the movies and as I was driving by i noticed a car in the grass that had slammed into the pole...turned around and got out and noticed he had slammed into 2 parked cars (Both new BMWs) before going off the road and hitting a tree in the grassway. apparently it had just happened as the people in the car were also getting out at the same time i was pulling up. THey were all fine but it was clear as day the driver was drunk.

i stuck around until the police showed up and they arrested the driver. Not its only a matter of time before i get a court notice to be a witness lol.

purplehaze9414 01-29-2013 09:07 AM

Still waiting on cars to get inspected. .. after further looking tl is in better shape then it looks no frame damage to the eye .... my dad rebuilds cars for living says about 9k to fix I owe 15k... the sad part is the gxp is in better condition but parts cost way more they might total it

HondaTech85 01-29-2013 08:31 PM

Like others have said the TL is totaled. I would not expect any insurance company to pay for repairs in excess of half the value. I would actually fight to have it totaled if it is close and just get another TL. Our cars have an aluminum subframe and that part alone is over $1,000. The unibody looks damaged and that is considered frame damage to most body shops/repair facilities and will cause the repair cost to jump significantly. Sorry for your loss...

purplehaze9414 02-01-2013 06:57 PM

well finally had they guy come look at the car they are not totalling either guy said he sees no frame damage... :( now the process of finding parts... i was thinking if i should put type s front end on it just because i like the lights better and the fog inserts but i saw that thread of the guy with the 04 wanting to do that and he got bashed lol

Redsand353 02-01-2013 08:11 PM

dude i would look for another estimate on the TL. you dont want it..
