My 2007 Acura TL Type-S Intro

Hey everyone. Last week I attended a dealer auction and ended up buying a TL-S. First off, I'm in Canada so the vehicle is in KM. I got it for very very cheap because it has 230,000KM(142,000 miles).

The car is in near perfect condition. Not a dent/door ding on the vehicle, no issues really to speak of. I'm very happy with my purchase! Not sure what I plan on doing with it, any ideas? I'm thinking mid-muffler delete and some front window tint?

Awesome congrats and good for you to be able to access dealer auctions. I'd go too but don't know how. I reckon you might've got that for similar price (okay maybe tad bit more) that I bought my 06 base TL from a private party (7500 I paid for my car). I know used cars get a huge profit margin/markup so wouldn't be surprised if TL-S are being auctioned for near 10k since dealer prices are closer to 15k on these cars.

Get all maintenance done and repair any needed issues.

LED fogs would be the first thing from the looks of those pics. otherwise it's already a great looking car.

Thanks for the reply! I know it seems far fetched to believe, but I actually got this TL for $5500. And trust me it's in perfect shape. I have a friend who's a dealer that's how I accessed the auction. Not sure why it went so cheap but I'm in love with this car

Holy sheeeit.

5500 CAD = $4200 UDS.

Wow that is amazing deal. Part of it may be the high miles but other than that if it's all in good shape that is AMAZING deal. Normal folks pay closer to 3-4times that price for a TL from a dealer/private party. Wow.

Maybe it was repo'ed or something.

This is quite interesting and really gets more info on the inner workings of a used car dealer. I'm sure a TL-S like this, even with this high mileage, may fetch 11-13k or so and that is incredible! Good deal man!

I'll really need to start looking into how to get access to dealer auctions...though as a private individual I may not be able to...as you alluded to you have a friend so one may actually either need a insider connection like that or have own dealer business/license...

Yeah I was impressed with the deal. I've had a few TLs, and have paid more for base models with similar KM. I figured for $5500 it would need some major mechanical work. I was wrong. It drives like new. No suspension noises, leaks, nothing. I ended up tracking down the previous owner and it turns out they traded it in for an SUV. Timing belt was done at 190,000km. One owner too.

Nice!

Although it is a bit weird that a dealer would let this go to auction rather than sell it themselves...as the poster below said....this car can EASILY fetch probably 11-12k even with the high miles.

Yeah. it's a bit worrisome because of how low of a price it is.

It may have been the high miles that caused to dealer to let this go to auction rather than go sell it themselves.

Hell, a local Acura dealer is selling a 06 TL for $9500: 2006 Acura TL Base | Jay Wolfe Auto Outlet |

I would be scared buying a TL-S for that cheap but it seems to have panned out very well

Yeah if it were traded at an Acura dealer no way they would keep it on their lot. Plus it may have need somethings for safety & dealers don't want to dive into high-mileage cars

Congrats! Decent deal even with the km on it. Make sure maintenance is up to date before diving into the mods alright!

Yeah paid 7.5k for mine with 160k miles last year for my 06.

But on a side note loving the mods you did for your car. Mine is also very badly chiiped paint on the front end and even a very small crack on front bumper. How much and where did you go for a quality re-paint?

I think I'll just hold off on the other performance mods due to too high of a $$/hp. I may just go for some visual mods later (TL-S taillight, TL-S wheels, etc.)

Nice! I paid $17000 here in Vancouver last week but the car only had 146000km with acura plus warranty still. Bought it through a private seller on Craigslist. So that's a phenomenon deal!

$17k? That's a bit steep unless that's the price paid post tax. BC & Ontario prices are pretty similar IIRC. Is there a good chunk of warranty left then?

16500 - 17500 is about right in BC. There is a posting today for 2007 TL-S for 20500. Richmond Acura just sold one for 19900! So it's about right for a well maintained low km TL-S. There's about 10 months left.
