Looking to buy

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and am looking at purchasing an 08 TL from a Subaru dealer about an hour away from me. I was wondering if you all wouldn't mind weighing in on if I'm getting a good purchase or wasting my money.

It's a pearl white 08 3.2
Clean Carfax no accidents
3 owners
87000 miles

Only blemishes I can see from pictures are a worn out passenger and rear passenger side seat.

They are asking for 8700. Which according to KBB is below a fair price. My worry is I've only ever had brand new vehicles so buying used with that amount of miles would be new to me. In your opinion could this car pottentially give me another 5-10 years? This would be a daily driver although I never really go far from home so within a years time I would probably still be below 100,000 miles.

I appreciate your time and any responses.

Thank you!

IMO: Any 10 year old car may have some issues. This car, is a great choice, as it's very reliable, sleek comfortable and has most amenities anyone could want in a 10 year old car. I would strongly recommend that you take it to a local Acura, or Honda Dealer, and request a pre-purchase inspection. Cost, normally in the $100 to $125 range. Things like failed motor mounts, leaking oil pump seals, cracks in the dash, etc., are know issues, Also check and see if the timing belt service has ever been done, $6-$1,200 service!

agree with frankjnjr. My 07 has almost 300,000 mostly trouble free miles, but at 10 years old you need someone to look it over. Oil leaks, transmission fluid 3 x 3, and timing belt are three things that I would look into. If the belt needs done and you have an oil leak it is reasonable to ask for a substantial discount since you can do/have shop do at same time for around $1k.
I would not worry about the mileage. These cars can go forever....assuming that it was maintained.

I had mine for awhile now, bought it since CPO. Never have any major issues with it, and the parts is cheap to replace even OEM.
