Thanks for updating the link. Looks like they revised the chart in July of this year.

This may sound like a dumb question but I live in MA but work in RI. Therefore I drive a lot more in RI than I do in MA. Can the RI cops pull me over for exceeding the tint level there(70%light), even though my car is legal for my state(35% light)?

As long as you have the plates from a state other than RI on your car it doesn't matter because I live in RI and Mass cars go by the cops all the time with their tints and they don't care.
P.S. Rhode Island laws suck so bad. 70% are you serious I don't even think that they make that.

Tint legality is based on the state the vehicle is regerstred in. Traveling to other states CANNOT make your tints illegal.
That'd be like saying you had to have a safety/emmissions sticker for every state you traveled to. Simply not possible.

this is goes out to all the people living in NJ with tints on the front window (ignore if this is not you)
we all know that tints on front window and NJ law dont mix, just like oil and vinegar.
as of august 1st 2010, state of NJ motor vehicle commission has made changes in their inspection stations.

Changes effective August 1, 2010: emissions check only
Does this mean they are not checking for tints or anything else that is not emission related? So if i take my car with 20% in the front window, will it fail?! or do they not check for that anymore?!..?

yes my tint is illegal as shit in WA but i am from and have GA plates but BEFORE i got my tint i called the state patrol and the local sherrif office and they both said they cant enfocrce their tint laws on my car (althou the state patrol said i SHOULD tint in acordence with WA law)
