it's me, Alan Rickman.
I ordered SMTs for the front and rear from VLEDS and have yet to get them. (Dec 18th)
now I realize I will need some load balancers.. I guess you will too
[or load resistor i guess]

I've tried both, SMT's are brighter. I'm using them now in my tails right now. Make sure to get it in red. I thought originally white would be brighter but it wasn't so I exchanged them for RED SMT"s.

Where are you guys putting the LEDs in the rear?? I thought the rear/tail lights were an LED board already. I see the fronts, but I'll have to go look at my rears. I see that it should be the 7440 in the back and the dual-circuit 7443 in the front. I wanna do this too. I love low-current lights. But whats with the load resistor thing? Is that just to make the lights blink properly? I had that problem in the Blazer and I had to change the flasher to an electronic model. Even then, I had to leave at least one incandescent bulb in the circuit to trigger the flasher. ALL LEDs didn't draw enough current to trigger the flasher. I left the bulbs in the dash indicators.
