My leather seat is ripped on the driver side. Its about an inch in length. BTW my cars an 08 TL-S. Is this covered under warranty?

probably under the 12/12 bumper to bumper- check the owner book- warranty book
If it ripped from bad sewing-anything that had nothing to do with you- then no sweat,
If you poked a hole in it with a screwdriver---maybe

I would definitely give it a shot under warranty claim. I've got an '05 and had worn leather on my shift knob that really bothered me. When I went in for the wiper motor recall, I mentioned that I would like the knob replaced under warranty. The dealer said that they would try to accomodate. When I went to pick the car up after the recall work was done, to my surprise there was a new shift knob. Never hurts to ask! Good luck.
