So I have my eyes on a 2005 Acura TL with 113k miles, no accidents perfect car nice and clean. The issue is that it's a 2005.....from my understanding kinetic blue pearl was only on 2007-2008 year model. Can anyone confirm that or explain why it might have that color? And also the owner has put on type s rear and front bumper.

But how does this car have the type s color when it's not? And the color deff is not royal blue pearl because it's a light blue like the type s.

The blue in 04-05 was Abyss Blue Pearl. It changed to Royal Blue Pearl in 06. Kinetic Blue Pearl was only offered on the 07/08 Type-S.

Maybe the previous owner repainted the car. Post a pic.

Looks like a blue wreck to me. As mentioned Kinetic Blue Pearl is an 07/08 Type S color only. That car above is a 04-06. So it's not a Type S, and it's not the original color...whatever color it's supposed to be.

It doesn't even look kinetic blue pearl. It looks like it has more of a slight purple to it than a blue color like KBP

Well it could be "perfect, nice, and clean" and be a repaint. Not all repaint is due to accident.

The car is missing wheels
missing front grill
the front bumper is hanging on for dear life and has a 07-08 Type-S bumper on it instead of a 04-06 base front bumper
it's parked in what appears to be a wrecked car lot
missing lower fog lights and fog light grill inserts

All those signs point to a car that didn't have a good life and I don't see how you can say that the car is "no accidents perfect car nice and clean"

That color does not look kinetic blue pearl. Kinetic blue pearl has a distinctive blue color tone to it and that car you posted a picture of doesn't match it.

That color looks blue with a hint of purple

It could have been in a accident but never reported to the insurance company

I think you got what you wanted from here already. Just buy the car, and flip it. Good luck with 5+ owners, I'm sure you'll still be able to get a decent profit. $700 bucks is an iPhone 6. Just buy the damn thing and do a restoration thread. But don't bust a Frosty

Exactly. Carfax is a gathering of info from public databases. My brother is in insurance fraud detection/investigation and while nothing is a perfect solution, the insurance database is the closest solution. Key is having access to the insurance database.

I can guarantee that a lot of accidents dont make it on carfax.

anyways, for $700 none of this matters. if it moves and gets you from point A to point B without making too much noise, then you alrdy got a good deal.
cant be expecting anything close to good condition for $700

but seriously...if your budget for a car is $700...stick to public transportation

OP you're hilarious and that is a $299 Macco paint job all the way. That car was custom painted "purple doo doo" color. The opening auction on that car is $700. This IS the car you're looking at. Admit it, but know that this car is an auction car with no guarantees to work. It's a TL so if it turns on and drives it won't sell for less than $2-4k given the overall condition in many cases. KBP....lol.
