Key Fob Battery?

I searched, but didn't find anything.

What type of battery does the FOB use on a 2005 TL? I saw a good thread about reprogramming a new FOB, but not replacing an existing battery.

My other car uses a CR1632 and I typically replace my battery every 2 years to be on the safe side. How often are you guys changing yours?

Thanks!

Why dont you just change yours when its dead? I mean you can still open the door and start the car with the key. Just drive to the store when you need one. Seems like a waste, plus bad for the environment too

Sorry if we came out looking like asses but we just assume that something that easy can be solved easily by yourself.

Maybe he rather not get locked out of his car somewhere where these type of batteries aren't available?

I know this is an old thread but just in case this can help someone: I replaced my 05 Acura TL key fob battery with a CR2032. Although a slightly bigger battery, it should give the same power just more capacity (also more convenient to pick up sometimes!).

I had a 2025 in my 2005 TL FOB forever.. I just installed a 2032 and while it is thicker, it still fits ok.. I tested it, and it works.
Both 2032 and 2025 and 2016 are same diameter. Just a thickness difference.
