Just bought an '08 TLS !! Wooot !
Yea i finally pulled the trigger and bought the car ive been longing forever. Had to put the old 01 TL out to pasture and bought an 08 TLS MT !! and i freaking love this car !!
So ive only owned it for 5 days and im already on the prowl for stuffs. Already did the LEDs for interior and plate lights, and ordered the Heeltoe shifter combo(doing check valve mod while in there), plus im doing GM syncromesh this sunday. Im also in the market for an ASPEC front lip, and about to order wheel spacers and springs, my only stipulation is, should i go with H&S sport springs or ASPEC stock suspension?? I dont want to sacrifice the stock ride quality that much, as i do a lot of highway driving to gigs across the country...or should i just go with Koni(yellow)/H&S sport combo?? IDK...im just very excited to finally have a nice ride...and very eager to get the ball rolling...
The car is going in for tints this weekend. And absolutely have to order rain guards...Im not wasting any time lol summer is coming...any input would be awesome!! thanks again guys...

congratz! post some pics of the ride. I currently have a 04 TL but definitely want to upgrade to a TL-S in the near future, I've always wanted one since they came out KBP to be exact.

modifications are dependent on you and only you.
I just went from a koni yellow/aspec springs to a full adjustable coilover.
and I kept it basically at the same height as the aspec springs...
so, you can have it all with a coilover set up.
congrats on your new sportier TL!

Ahhh. The infamous justinspace graced himself in my thread I've been lurking on this site for years...so, I see you homeboy, you remind me of me and my boys, a knowledgeful wise ass lol. no offense... But yea, then which coil overs will give me a smooth ride quality? Ive have had plenty of slammed rides, and the ride quality is shit. I want to somewhat keep the nice driveability, but lose the horrible wheel gap....Tein still a good build?
And I'll drop some pics in here after work today

I am running the BC racing coilover.
comparing the other brands, BC and ISC are the only two that retain stock like qualities; ie droop.
I went from the Koni yellow/aspec to the BC coils because, I bought new wheels.
the new wheels are a little more aggressive than stock and therefore less forgiving in the way the suspension was handling.
i concluded the koni's were too soft, as I had remembered i fuxored one corner up. thus making me rub on the drivers side rear.
i guess i could have just bought that one koni yellow shock and would have fixed the issue, i decided to try coilovers.
because I was trying to limit the rebound so I dont rub, I have adjusted the damping, five clicks away from stiff front and rear.
this gives me a super stiff ride. lol
i didnt try it on full soft, but i suppose it would provide a stock like ride and comfort

Nice.. I'll do a bit of deciding over the next couple of weeks, I'm kind of in the frame of mind as you Justin. I beat the crap out my car, but still take care of her. Lol. Idk I just to drive, a lot. But I do drive hundreds of miles a week to gigs and shows, so I still want to maintain drivablity ...I do all my own work as much as I can without a lift, and a press...so atm, my priorities are getting this thing tinted , because dark interior gets hot as hell, rain guards are also a necessity. My heeltoe short shift kit should be here in the next couple of days, and I have to remove that God aweful clutch check valve too...

Thanks man. I don't plan on getting too crazy modding, engine wise, just simple bolt ons and whatnot. Just drive like an animal and keep it safe and classy

Gotta post up pics of the new ride! Cant make a proper intro thread without.
As far as goes... I looked a lot at strut/spring combos, not really wanting to sacrifice ride quality much. For cost (and knowing I'd end up switching out to coilovers anyways) I ended up grabbing a set of ISC street coilovers and I love the ride. I drive my car like crazy (I've put 12,000mi on since November) including a trip to Atlanta from Chicago and have zero complaints about them. Funny thing is my girlfriends mom said the car felt like it rode better (except over large bumps) than the factory suspension.
Good luck with the new car, and great pickup with it being a 6mt!

Congrats on the new car man! Show us pics asap. I have an 07 type s 6 speed and just had my Tein Street Advance coils put on five days ago. I PM'd at least 30 guys on here about their setups and talked to the guys at XLR8 and Heeltoeauto and decided to buy the Tein's. Now I have no prior experience with any other coilovers but I am very very very particular on the ride quality. After driving on them for five days where I am lowered about 1.5-2 inches, I am very pleased with the ride quality. I've heard that the Aspec suspension is the closest to stock, but I've never tried them.
