I just did the steering wheel bulb replacement job, with a huge assist from Evoman's pictures earlier in this thread.

One thing to add- removal of the silver units is quite difficult because you are working blind on small screws from the rear of the steering wheel. The screws are tiny and require either a small 3 or 3.5mm phillips screwdriver. I applied pressure to the top of the driver by hand, then used pliars attached to the screwdriver handle to do the turning.

There are 6 bulbs in all, 2 each of 3 different model numbers. The phone controls use a common pair, the top button on the radio/cruise control switch use another common pair, and the final two bulbs are for the bottom of the cruise/radio control. I went OEM on the bulbs.

Reverse evoman's instructions to put it all back together. It would have been a 30 minute job if I hadn't run into so much trouble removing the little screws at the back of the steering wheel.

The OP's link is a complete rip-off, just get them from amazon. The lights used in the Acura TL are: 194 168 5-SMD White High Power LED

You can get four for $2.00

TAZ, your link is the same one I used a while ago. I ordered the exact same one (the page even says I ordered it) almost a month ago and I still haven't received it yet (apparently it's on a "slow boat from China" according to one of the seller reviews). If I order it now, I can get it in two days. That's ridiculous!

Man I wish I had seen this before I broke my passenger side map light I just got my 08 Type S on Friday and was trying to change the light and broke the bottom half off inside the connector (if anyone knows a good way to get it out, I'd appreciate the advice. I heard so far that dental picks work the best, trying that out today) . Thank you though for posting this documentation now I can attempt my driver's side map light.

Got my map lights changed out to red LEDs (V-LEDS)! Took an hour of fiddling with dental picks to get the piece of the stock bulb that I broke out, but I got it!. Tomorrow I will try the OPs method to get the back courtesy lights changed.

Nice.

I have a ABP w/ grey. I bought it a few months back, love the car.

I think I'm going to grab this set of LED's and call it done.

They're all cheap eBay leds, therefore you can't really know the quality until you buy it. Buy whichever you want, really.

I bought a set off of Amazon and it was the easiest and most noticeable "mod" you can do. I couldn't be happier with them, the License plate was kind of tricky because I tried doing it from the outside instead of removing the trunk liner.

CD/Cassette lights

Anyone ever change the lights on the cd changer or the cassette portion of the radio?
Basically the bottom portion, I already replace the top part with LED'S and they are fantastic. If only I could do the bottom part

I used a few different flathead screwdrivers to get the job done. That scotch tape idea worked wonderfully. I would have been at it for hours without that tip!

A few of the panels gave me some problems so I wanted to list (before I forget) which side is easiest to pop.

1. Dome Lights: Pop from the farthest side (facing the windsheild). A normal screwdriver worked great.

2. Courtesy lights: You wont be able to get these off without a metal pic of some sort. Popped from the outer sides.

3. Vanity Lights: What a pain in the ?@#. I figured out how to do it after a while. Basically the light is setup like this. Roof -> Metal spacer --> light assembly. On the drivers side, you will want to go in on the right side. On the passanger, you its on the left. Its basically the side you see the lightbulb on when you turn it on. You need to take a screwdriver and shove it in between the metal spacer and the light assembly. Just keep wiggling it back and forth. Eventualy you will make it to the tab which pops the whole thing out. When you put it back in, make sure you bend the plastic tab back a little otherwise it might not stay.

4. Door Lights: This was a pain at first but you want to pop it from the side, not the bottom.

5. Trunk Light? The trunk like looked like the same as the vanity light. I think that could have been replaced but you would need to order a 5th set of bulbs and waste one.

Personally I think the oem bulbs were brighter because the light spreads more. The LED's are more focused. I could care less though because I can't stand the amber light from the oems.

Can't wait to see them at night!
#3 - horse shit! I spent about a week now trying to get these plastic covers off and they DO NOT come off. If I pull any harder its going to rip the headliner just like the shitty leather seats on this piece of shit car. I've only seen videos of the covers after they were taken off there are no videos of it being taken off correctly. Can someone please help?!

I went with small panel lights instead of those bulbs. Panel lights are so so much brighter, I even put one in the trunk but it didn't fit so I just stuck it on the outside of the casing. At night when I open up the trunk its like a cartoon opening a chest with gold.
